Highlights e A comprehensive review of simple clinical voice assessment

techniques and vocal cord paralysis treatments.

e Technology is well represented in this year's program. The conference provides updates and clinical applications of new technologies including digital instrumentation, electronic video endoscopy, high-speed imaging, new voice implants, new instrumentation for surgical voice care, and how to access voice information on the internet.

e A review of alternative voice treatments which are gaining recognition and acceptance: diet, homeopathy, Oriental medicine, acupucture, and herbal medicine.

e Continuing the tradition of high-profile guests, our luncheon speaker this year will be Ms. Ruth Ann Swenson. This internationally acclaimed soprano will be interviewed in an informal way and will talk candidly about how she has taken care of her voice throughout her brilliant career.

e Tabletop exhibits give attendees an opportunity to take a closer look at new instrumentation, pharmacological products, publications, and other products of interest to voice professionals.

e Expanding our field to cover occupational voice disorders, we take a closer look at work-related dysphonias. Topics include voice problems found in users of speech recognition systems, vocal challenges for professional women, voice problems after exposure to environmental toxins (fumes and acids). and assessment of industrial voice claims.

e We are setting aside a room for you to meet the faculty informally for further discussion. Do not loose this opportunity to talk one-on-one with some of the most distinguished professionals in the field.
