Welcome back I would like to welcome everybody back to a very full term two. Building works update Stage one of our Master plan continues to be developed. The new R Block building roof is currently being installed. Framework for the new Administration building has been fixed and the roofing contractors will move to install this roof after they complete the works on R block. The base for the multi-function courts has been laid and is currently curing before the flexi-pave surface can be put down.
Old vegetation adjacent to Capital Avenue was removed to enable landscaping to take place. The existing established gum trees were retained. The builders are confident that they will complete these two buildings by term 4 this year. Student Attitudes to School survey The 2017 Student Attitudes To School survey is scheduled for all students later this term. This is a very important tool to assess how the school is going and I encourage students to think carefully of their responses. Results will be used by the Year Level Coordinators and other key groups of the school to design appropriate supports and programs to benefit students. Debutante Ball Information Night The 2017 Debutante Ball information evening will be held on Tuesday 16 May. I would like to thank the members of the Debutante Ball committee from the PTSFA for organising this year’s Ball. It looks to be a very popular event and one that will give our students a wonderful and challenging opportunity. Ian Watkins Principal

“Last month the Highvale Social Justice group (HSJ) went to ‘Many Rooms’, a soup kitchen in Melbourne's CBD, to serve dessert to over 150 people. HSJ has spent this past term planning, fundraising and then cooking over 200 cupcakes for the dessert. The night was a great success and both participants and supervisors were greatly encouraged by the group's efforts to support them. We’d also like to thank Woolworths Forest Hill, Coles The Glen and the Stevens and McLaren family for their generous donations.” Tara Knight Yr 10 Student
