Continue on and make a short descent followed by an ascent to travel from Meade to Beckman Mt and then a loop backaround to the main trail. Along the loop, several view-points offer gorgeous scenes of Loon Lake, Blythewood Island, Hadley, and Crane Mountains, and a picnic table provides a lovely spot to take a break.

From the South, take the Northway to Exit 26. Turn left onto Valley Farm Rd and then left again onto Route 9 South. Continue for 2.4 miles.Turn right onto Igerna Rd and continue for 0.8 miles. The trailhead and parking will be on your left.

Mead Mt and Beckman Mt are part of the 8 trail Chester Challenge. Stewart, Kipp, and Catamount Mountains, also in the Challenge, areall nearby. The hamlet of Pottersville, with shopping and dining options, and the scenic Natural Stone Bridge and Caves are just a fewmiles north on Route 9.
