In the most authoritative book ever written about Apollo, David Whitehouse reveals the true drama behind the mission, telling the story in the words of those who took part – based around exclusive interviews with the key players.

In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the moon landing, here is

the story as told by the crew of Apollo 11 and the many other astronauts who paved the way or followed themselves after the first man to walk on the moon, Neil Armstrong, alongside Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins. Astronauts, engineers, politicians, NASA officials, Soviet rivals – all tell their own story of a great moment of human achievement .

UK Garrison

We will have 6 characters from UK Garrison Patrolling our Event (photo opportunity at your own peril :-)

Professor David Rees

David was UK Principal Investigator for some 250+ Rocket experiments on the Earth's atmosphere / ionosphere / magnetosphere. He also developed and built important components of some 8 NASA Satellite Instruments, so he's the perfect person to help us appreciate the history of rocketry.

David will give us an fascinating look at the history of the Saturn V Rocket, from the beginnings of Rocketry to sad deaths of three astronauts on the Launchpad to the triumph of finally landing Man on the Moon.

Sussex University The Physics Department will be giving those booked a Live show.

The Apollo program was designed to land humans on the Moon and bring them safely back to Earth, but what did the Apollo missions give to humankind, how did they come about and what have we learnt in 50 years since humankind first left the bounds of low Earth orbit? takes us on an entertaining journey through these and other thought-provoking questions Nick will also be bringing a range of artefacts from the flown missions and the flight operations control centre for show and tell, as well as a range of lunar and other meteorites which will also be available for purchase
