    Submucosa

    - Similar to one found in the stomach except for the duodenumo Duodenal gland of brunner ducts of which emtrpies in the intestinal gland

    Tubular coiled glands producing an alkaline mucus, bicarbonate,eurogastrone (inhibites HCl secretion)

    Seen in the submucosa of the duodenum near the stomach forprotection Secretory glands is made up of tall cuboidal cells with a basal

    nucleus, granular rough endoplasmic reticulm, supernumeral golgi

    app = characteristic of a zymogen (chon secreting cell)

    Muscularis externa

    - Inner circular- Outer longitudinal

    Serosa- Outermost layer of the small intestine- Simple squamous epithelium = mesothelium
