Officiant and People
Most merciful God,
we confess that we have sinned against you
in thought, word, and deed,
by what we have done,
and by what we have left undone.
We have not loved you with our whole heart;
we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.
We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.
For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ,
have mercy on us and forgive us;
that we may delight in your will,
and walk in your ways,
to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Jubilate BCP 82
Officiant Let us say the Jubilate in unison.
Be joyful in the Lord, all you lands; *
serve the Lord with gladness
and come before his presence with a song.
Know this: The Lord himself is God; *
he himself has made us, and we are his;
we are his people and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving;
go into his courts with praise; *
give thanks to him and call upon his Name.
For the Lord is good;
his mercy is everlasting; *
and his faithfulness endures from age to age.
Psalm 116:1, 10-17 BCP 757
1 I love the LORD, because he has heard the voice of
my supplication, *
because he has inclined his ear to me whenever
I called upon him.
10 How shall I repay the LORD *
for all the good things he has done for me?
11 I will lift up the cup of salvation *
and call upon the Name of the LORD.
12 I will fulfill my vows to the LORD *
in the presence of all his people.
13 Precious in the sight of the LORD *
is the death of his servants.
14 O LORD, I am your servant; *
I am your servant and the child of your handmaid;
you have freed me from my bonds.
15 I will offer you the sacrifice of thanksgiving *
and call upon the Name of the LORD.
16 I will fulfill my vows to the LORD *
in the presence of all his people,
17 In the courts of the LORD'S house, *
in the midst of you, O Jerusalem.
Hallelujah!
The First Reading: Genesis 18:1-15
The LORD appeared to Abraham by the oaks of Mamre, as he sat at the entrance of his tent in the heat of the day. He
looked up and saw three men standing near him. When he saw them, he ran from the tent entrance to meet them, and
bowed down to the ground. He said, “My lord, if I find favor with you, do not pass by your servant. Let a little water be
brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree. Let me bring a little bread, that you may refresh yourselves,
and after that you may pass on—since you have come to your servant.” So they said, “Do as you have said.” And Abraham
hastened into the tent to Sarah, and said, “Make ready quickly three measures of choice flour, knead it, and make cakes.”
Abraham ran to the herd, and took a calf, tender and good, and gave it to the servant, who hastened to prepare it. Then he
took curds and milk and the calf that he had prepared, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree while
they ate. They said to him, “Where is your wife Sarah?” And he said, “There, in the tent.” Then one said, “I will surely
return to you in due season, and your wife Sarah shall have a son.” And Sarah was listening at the tent entrance behind
him. Now Abraham and Sarah were old, advanced in age; it had ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. So
Sarah laughed to herself, saying, “After I have grown old, and my husband is old, shall I have pleasure?” The LORD said to
Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh, and say, ‘Shall I indeed bear a child, now that I am old?’ Is anything too wonderful for
the LORD? At the set time I will return to you, in due season, and Sarah shall have a son.” But Sarah denied, saying, “I did
not laugh”; for she was afraid. He said, “Oh yes, you did laugh.”

Hymn 391 sung at 10:45AM service only Winchester New
The Gospel Reading: Matthew 9:35-10:8
Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and
curing every disease and every sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed
and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few;
therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest." Then Jesus summoned his twelve disciples and gave
them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to cure every disease and every sickness. These are the names of the
twelve apostles: first, Simon, also known as Peter, and his brother Andrew; James son of Zebedee, and his brother John; Philip
and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; Simon the Cananaean, and
Judas Iscariot, the one who betrayed him. These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: "Go nowhere among the
Gentiles, and enter no town of the Samaritans, but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. As you go, proclaim the
good news, 'The kingdom of heaven has come near.' Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. You
received without payment; give without payment.”

The Apostles' Creed BCP 96
Officiant and People together
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth;
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit
and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
The Prayers BCP 97
Officiant The Lord be with you.
People And also with you. Officiant Let us pray.
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever. Amen.

The Prayers of the People: Episcopal Litany for Social Justice
Brothers and Sisters: God commands us through Jesus Christ to love one another. In baptism, we promise to seek and
serve Christ in all persons, loving our neighbors as ourselves and to strive for justice and peace, and respect the dignity of
every human being. Let us now honor those vows and pray for our nation in this election season, for wise and just leaders,
and for the needs of others throughout our country and the world.
We pray for continued blessings on all peacemakers, on leaders who value peace, and on everyone who promotes nonvio-
lent solutions to conflict. We pray for a speedy end to all violence and warfare around the world.
God of peace and gentleness,
Hear our prayer.
We pray for the strength of heart and mind to look beyond ourselves and address the needs of our brothers and sisters
throughout the world; for the rural and urban poor; for the rebuilding of our communities; and for an end to the cycles of
violence that threaten our future.

We pray for all nations, that they may live in unity, peace, and concord; and that all people may know justice and enjoy the
perfect freedom that only God can give.

growing disparity between the rich and poor; and for the grace and courage to strive for economic justice.
God of all gifts and blessings,
Hear our prayer.
We pray for an end to prejudice throughout our country and the world; that we will respect all people as precious children
of God; and that racism, sexism, and all other forms of discrimination will be forever banished from our hearts, our socie-
ty, and our laws.
God of fellowship and equality,

Almighty God, you have promised to hear what we ask in the name of your Son. Watch over our country now and in the
days ahead, guide our leaders and all who will vote, guide them in all knowledge and truth and make your ways known
among all people. In the passion of debate give them a quiet spirit; in the complexities of the issues give them courageous
hearts. Accept and fulfill our petitions, we pray, not as we ask in our ignorance, nor as we deserve in our sinfulness, but as
you know and love us in your Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
The Collect of the Day

Hymn 541 Ora Labora
The General Thanksgiving BCP 101
Officiant and People
Almighty God, Father of all mercies,
we your unworthy servants give you humble thanks
for all your goodness and loving-kindness
to us and to all whom you have made.
We bless you for our creation, preservation,
and all the blessings of this life;
but above all for your immeasurable love
in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ;
for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory.
And, we pray, give us such an awareness of your mercies,
that with truly thankful hearts we may show forth your praise,
not only with our lips, but in our lives,
by giving up our selves to your service,
and by walking before you
in holiness and righteousness all our days;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit,
be honor and glory throughout all ages. Amen.
Before Meals:
Blessed are you, Lord God of the Universe, from whom all our blessings flow. Teach us how to be grateful for the things
in life that sustain us: simple foods, clean water, safe homes, and sound minds and bodies. For those around our table, we
give thanks. And, if we are alone, make us mindful that your presence fills every corner of our lives, and that we are at all
times surrounded by a great cloud of your witnesses. Nourish our bodies, enliven our souls, and direct our energies to-
ward those things that glorify you; through Christ our Lord, we pray. Amen.
Officiant Let us bless the Lord. Alleluia, alleluia
People Thanks be to God. Alleluia, alleluia
