Nisa stores achieved a £600,000 reduction in landfill tax in 2012 and saved 15,300t of carbon. It also created a revenue of £800,000 from selling recycled material
DHL collects items ranging from mushroom crates to cardboard boxes from JD Weatherspoon pubs. In 2012 8,000t was recycled
Any increase in recycling is important. Waitrose backhauls all waste materials to its Regional Distribution Centres.
