Thomas Saint. He invented it in 1790. He made the sewing machine so people could sew faster and easer to have time to do other house work. But over time sewing machines

have changed shape by different inventors. for example in 1814, Josef

Madersperger invented a sewing machine a bit different

from Sain’s. By 1830, Barhelemy Thimonnier a sewing machine that sews straight seams using chain

stitch. In 1832, Walter Hantinvented the first lock stitch sewing machine. 1842, John Greenough first invented a

sewing machine in U.S. 1845, Elias Howe invented a sewing

machine similar to Saints. These sewing machines have helped millions of families by

making sewing much easer and faster. Thanks to the

sewing machine!
