Prayer for Spiritual Communion My Jesus,

I believe that You are present in the Blessed Sacrament.

I love You above all things, and I desire You with all my heart.

Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally,

I ask you to come spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already

In my heart and unite myself to You completely.

Please do not let me ever be separated from you.

Amen

3 Dear parishioners and visitors,

My article for this week is in anticipation for the begin-ning of the Lenten Season on Ash Wednesday, February 17th. Please read carefully and follow the instructions because of covid:

There will be two Masses: 8:30 AM and 7:00 PM. Some of the students in our Catholic school will attend the first Mass while students in religious education and their families attend the evening Mass. So there will not be much room at the first Mass and none at the second for others to attend maintaining space restrictions. I will offer a short prayer service at three other times with dis-tribution of ashes. So here is the schedule on Ash Wednesday:

7:00 AM: Prayer service and ashes – St. Gabriel 8:30 AM: Mass and ashes – St. Gabriel 12:15 PM: Prayer service and ashes – St. John 5:15 PM: Prayer service and ashes – St. John

7:00 PM: Mass and ashes – St. John

Please remember there is very little to no additional peo-ple at the two Masses; please come to one of the prayer services. Also, come on-time and stay for the entire Mass and service. The distribution of ashes will be done differently.

Thank you, and God bless you.

-Msgr. Stoetzel

Thank you to all who donated candy bars, money or supplies to make over 130 mugs of love for Prairie Maison, Bluff Haven and our shut ins. The JWalkers are in the process of writing personal Valentines to each of these special people. We appreciate your gen-erosity and kindness. We have a few left if you know of someone that could use one please let Mary Stoef-fler know by Tuesday, February 9th.

Announcements As in compliance to the Governor’s executive order on November 18th, all people from age 5 and up are to wear face masks indoors in confined areas in-cluding churches. The penalty could be up to $200.00 for non-compliance. It is anticipated this will be in effect through the end of March, 2021. Thank you.

St. Patrick’s Parish Waukon will again be sponsoring the Christian Experience Weekend (CEW) It is an intense, adult renewal weekend. It is a shared religious experience, which grew out of the realization that the Christian Life has to be experienced. Since the Christian Life is a community life, it is best experienced in a community. The men’s CEW will be held at Village Creek Bible Camp between Waukon and Lansing February 26 - 28. The women’s CEW will be held at Village Creek Bible Camp March 5 - 7. For registra-tion forms or any questions contact: Ross Weymiller for Men’s CEW at (563) 380-9484 or Erin Plein (563)568-7443.for Women’s CEW. The cost is $95.00. The weekends are truly ecumenical weekends. Many people of various faiths have come together to experience a deeper love and relationship with God and find great rewards in devoting the entire weekend to God.

BAPTISM We welcome into the family of God, Briggs Brian Jaynes, son of Dustin M. & Ashley M. (Harris) Jaynes through the Sacrament of Baptism. May God continue to bless Briggs Brian and his family.

IN SYMPATHY Please remember Terry E. Reglin in your prayers. A private family funeral was held at St. Boniface Catho-lic Church in Waumandee, WI. May God grant Terry eternal life and comfort to his family.

School News.......The PreK classes entered the new year excited and ready to learn. Catholic Schools Week was last week. We had some amazing activities planned for the past week! Monday we took an all school spirit picture. Tuesday we recited the Rosary as a school. We also had Crazy Sock & Hat Day. Wednesday Principal Spindler read a picture book over the loudspeaker. Thursday we played in the snow and also played bingo as a school. Friday we weighed all of our pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. We are so proud to be Prairie Catholic Saints! Have a Blessed Week
