Migraine is a medical condition. Most people

who suffer from migraines get headaches that

can be quite severe. A migraine headache is

usually an intense, throbbing pain on one,

or sometimes both, sides of the head. Most

people with migraine headache feel the pain in

the temples or behind one eye or ear, althoughany part of the head can be involved.

Besides pain, migraine also can cause nausea

and vomiting and sensitivity to light and sound.

Some people also may see spots or flashing

lights or have a temporary loss of vision.

Migraine can occur any time of the day,

though it often starts in the morning. The pain

can last a few hours or up to one or two days.

Some people get migraines once or twice a

week; others, only once or twice a year. Most

of the time, migraines are not a threat to

overall health. But migraine attacks can

    fere with your day-to-day life.

If you suffer from headaches and are

cerned that you may be having migra

see your doctor for a diagnosis and to ditreatment options.

    have not ignited fully.

Never point or throw fireworks at anothe

    person.

Keep a bucket of water or a garden hos

handy in case of fire or other mishap.

After fireworks complete their burning, dous

the spent device with plenty of water from

bucket or hose before discarding it to preven

    a trash fire.

More than one in three people age 65 years

or older falls each year. Each year, more than

.6 million older U.S. adults go to emergency

    departments for fall-related injuries.

ractures caused by falls can lead to hospitaltays and disability. Most often, fall-related

ractures are in the persons hip, pelvis, spine,

rm, hand or ankle. Hip fractures are one of

he most serious types of fall injury. They are

leading cause of injury and loss of indepen-

Many older adults are afraid of falling. This

ear becomes more common as people age,

ven among those who havent fallen. It may

lead older people to avoid activities such as

walking, shopping or taking part in social

    activities.

If youre worried about falling, talk with your

doctor or another healthcare provider. Yourdoctor may refer you to a physical therapist.

balance and walking and help build your walk-

ing confidence. Getting rid of your fear of fall-

ing can help you to stay active, maintain your
