MENTOR SCHOOL WITHOUT
WALLS SENIORS
Each year, School Without Walls (SWW) seniors workon a yearlong project that involves a research paper,an innovative product or event, and a publicpresentation. This year, SWW is partnering with GWto provide undergraduate student mentors for theparticipating high school seniors. The first twomentoring sessions will occur this Thursday, 9/13,and Thursday, 9/20, between 3:45pm and5:00pm. During these sessions, GW volunteers willprovide feedback on SWW seniors' paper proposals,helping to identify and resolve grammatical, stylistic,and rhetorical errors. The Atlantic Festival, put on by The Atlantic inpartnership with the Aspen Institute, is looking for 15volunteers for their event from October 2nd to 4th inthe Penn Quarter neighborhood. Volunteers will bechecking guests in, assisting with merchandise andgift bag distribution, handling microphones duringsessions, and running overall logistics. We loved servingwith the entire Class of 2022, student leaders, faculty, and staff who came out and served allacross the DMV alongside our new and recurring community partners. Special shout out andbelated HAPPY BIRTHDAY to President Thomas LeBlanc who celebrated his birthday with theGW and DC community through service with all of us. Our Freshman Day of Service is a day of joy and connection which is one step in transforming usfrom strangers to neighbors, and maybe, friends. That is the idea behind the 9/11 NATIONALDAY OF SERVICE AND REMEMBRANCE and our Freshman Day of Service and Convocation isGW's commemoration.
