■■ Robust parallel linkage

■■ Zero pressure depth control wheel for improved operation in sticky conditions.

■■ Optional 10cm or 6.5cm wide depth wheels

■■ Simple screw adjuster for precise working depth

■■ A single bolt allows speedy adjustment of unit spacing.

■■ Optional pressure ram system transfers weight from the toolbar onto the row unit in order to improve penetration in hard conditions.

■■ The pressure ram also has a damping effect on the wheel unit and prevents skip when working at high speed.

Garford can offer hoes anything from small manually guided systems of 1.5mtr working width up to large 12 mtr hydraulic folding types with Robocrop Precision Guided High Speed System.

For row widths of 25cm and below we normally supply one wheel unit per 3 rows

Typical share distribution for various row widths

Garford offer a comprehensive range of shares and soil engaging components...

1. Standard S tine and Duck Foot A Share - The ‘industry standard’, used in combination with crop protection shields can provide good cultivation and inversion of soil in wider row crops such as beet and maize.

2. Special tines and flat A shares - create less surface soil disturbance at slow speeds so can often be used without the need for crop protection shields even in young crops.

3. Special tines and slash blades - specially developed by Garford to provide a good level of weed control directly adjacent to the crop row by not allowing weed stems to slip by. The slash blade also creates minimal surface disturbance and good foliage clearance. Freer flowing by comparison with L blade as there is no nose to trap weeds.

4. L blades - for the traditionalist. Two types are available - compact and swept. Hooks weeds away from the crop row and creates a good line to work to for manually guided hoes.

5. Ridging bodies - for use on raised bed systems to remake the bed shoulders to improve root cover through to harvest and a level bed top for future weed control passes.

6. Side disc - can be set to cut the soil surface if capping opr weed tangle is a problem and to also act as a rolling shields.

7. Rotary Finger Weeder - the flexible fingers can be set to work within the crop for a degree of in the row weeding within more advanced growth crops.

8. Crop Protection Shield - supported on a parallel link bracket good soil contact is assured and so even the smallest of plants will be protected.

9. Spring Weeder Rake - designed to follow the hoeing blades to condition and level the soil the rake will also pull some weeds onto the surface to leave their roots exposed.

Garford can supply rigid or hydraulic folding frames up to 12 metre working width. Front mounted or rear mounted versions are available. A category 2 front linkage is available for frame sizes up to 6 metre.
