under the brand name DURSALIT®.

DURSALIT® products are successfully

used for covering, refining, gassing, de-

gassing, grain refining, modification and

dross treatment.

DURSALIT® products are used worldwide

for Aluminium and Magnesium light metal

smelting, semi-fabrication and remelting

as well as die-casting.

Besides light metal, HOESCH offers an

exclusive range of DURSALIT® melt treat-

ment, remelting, covering and lubrication

agents for heavy metal casting e.g. Cop-

per, Brass, Brass alloys, Bronze or Cupro-

nickel.

Your Individual Production Process

The market requirements for aluminium and

aluminium based materials regarding overall

quality and costs are continuously increasing.

This requires intense, regular analyses and

continuous improvements of individual pro-

cesses to meet all quality targets.

Especially the process parameters such as

temperature control, alloying practice, flux

and cleaning treatments bear optimization

potential for improvement of melt quality.

Detrimental elements like hydrogen and non-

metallic inclusions are often source of quality

problems and increased rejection rates.

The implementation and use of appropri-

ate measuring devices like PoDFA, Prefil®,

LiMCA CM, LiMCA III and AlSCANTM re-

sult in detailed knowledge about the qua-

lity along the casting processes. This pro-

cess quality map is a base for further

improvements of process parameters like

degassing, filtration, grain refining and

modification. In addition, permanent quality

control can be achieved by use of the menti-

oned devices.

HOESCH Metallurgie offers its customers

metallurgical service by carrying out measu-

rements on site with our engineers and ap-

plication of laboratory based methods, whe-

re metallographic examinations are done by

our own metallographers, e.g. in accordance

to the PoDFA Method.

HOESCH Granules GmbH as a part of the

HOESCH Group is a major German produc-

tion company of non-ferrous metal powder

and granules for various applications.

By recycling of production scrap from flexible

packaging HOESCH Granules produces Alu-

minium Foil Granules with outstanding che-

mical and physical properties, perfectly de-

signed for various applications, especially for

exothermic products and alloying additives.

Fine Aluminium Powder produced by means

of atomization of primary or secondary alumi-

nium and mechanically produced coarse Alu-

minium Grit complement the product range.

Beside aluminium products HOESCH Granu-

les offers Aluminium Magnesium and Magne-

sium powder and granules for the production

of exothermic sleeves, refractory products,

fireworks and as additive for steel production.

By milling and processing of various Metals

and Ferro Alloys to fine powder and granules

the HOESCH Granules product range of non-

ferrous metal powder is supplemented.

Beside theses non-ferrous metal powder and

granules HOESCH Granules produce some

special inorganic melting salts:

• Potassium-Aluminium-Fluoride–PAF

Inorganic salt with low melting point; suited

for treatment of molten metal, as component

in exothermic abrasives and soldering pro-

ducts. Replacement of sodium and potassi-

um cryolite.

• FusedFlux

Specially manufactured melt treatment salts

under the brand name DURSALIT® for refi-

ning of molten metal for aluminium and mag-

nesium industry.
