TheStraightSegmentalCuffsareusedinmanyexams.Choosecuffsizesaccordingtothelimbcircumference.Cuffsshouldbe20%widerthanthediameterofthelimbwhereyouwillbeapplyingthecuff.Thewrongsizedcuffwillgiveanincorrectpressure.

Afterremovingthebladders,thesecuffscanbewashedinawashingmachineongentlecyclewithsoap.Linedryandwhencompletelydryinsertthebladder.Bladdersandcoversarereplaceable,andcanbepurchasedfromHokanson.

Direction SensingVascularDopplerswithdirectionsensingcapabilityaretypicallycalledbidirectional.BidirectionalDopplersallowyoutodistinguishbetweenarterialandvenoussignalsbasedonflowdirection,andtoidentifyreverseflowinthearteries.AllHokansonvascularDopplersarebidirectional,anduseavarietyofmethodstoshowthedirectionofflow.

Photo Plethysmograph (PPG)Thisinstrumentusesinfraredsensorstodetectskincolorchangesthatoccurwitheachheartbeat.

Theoutputofthephotoplethysmographisawaveformshowingvolumechangesinthemeasurementarea.Thisinstrumentistypicallyusedinthedetectionofbloodflowandthemeasurementofbloodpressure.Alimitationisthatvariationsinskincolorandthemethodofapplicationprecludevolumecalibration.

Strain Gauge Plethysmograph (SPG)Athinrubbertube,filledwithMercuryorIndium-Gallium,isplacedaroundthelimbordigitofinterest.Asthevolumeofthelimbchangeswitheachheartbeat,thetubeisstretchedandtheelectricalresistanceincreases.Themeasurementisprocessedandsentasanaloginformationtothedisplayorchartrecorder.

Advantagesofourstraingaugeplethysmographsarethattheyareeasilyandaccuratelycalibratedin-situ,andcanbeusedinawidevarietyofapplications.

Commonusesofthisinstrumentincludemeasuringarterialbloodflowintothelimbsanddigits(sometimescalledvenousocclusionplethysmography),venouscapacitance,maximumvenousoutflowtodetectdeepvenousthrombosisinthelegs,andbloodpressuremeasurementsintheextremities.

Pneumo PlethysmographThisplethysmographdetectschangesinlimbordigitvolumefromthepressurechangesinasensingcuff.Thiscuffisplacedaroundthelimbordigitofinterest,inflatedtoalowpressureandsealedofffromtheinflationdevice.Anychangeinvolumeunderthecuffisreflectedbyapressurechangewithinthecuff.Thisisshownonadisplayorchartrecorder.

Thepneumoplethysmographisgenerallyusedforevaluatingwaveformshapesandrelativeamplitudechanges.Itcanbecalibratedbyaddingorsubtractingaknownvolumeofairtothesystemandobservingthecorrespondingoutputchanges.

Advantagesofpneumoplethysmographyarethatitissimpletouseandcleanwaveformsareeasytoobtain;multiplecuffscanbeappliedtoseveralpartsofthebodyandthenmeasuredinquicksuccession.Usesincludepulsevolumerecording(PVR)andmaximumvenousoutflow.

• Durablebloodpressurecuffsarewarrantedfortwoyears.

• Transducers,straingauges,andaccessoriesarewarrantedforoneyear.

• Batteriesareexcludedfromthiswarranty.

• Repairisfreeofchargewhentheinstrumentisreturnedprepaid.Returnshipmentwillbemadeatourexpenseinamannersimilartoyourshipmenttous.Ifforanyreasonweareunabletorepairyourinstrumentwithinthreeworkingdayswewillprovideafreeloanerinstrumentatourexpense.

Service PolicyHokansonwillserviceanyinstrumentwehaveevermanufactured,regardlessofthemanufacturedate.

Rentalandloanerinstrumentsareavailabletothecustomerunderthefollowingconditions:

3.Afterthewarrantyperiod,ifthecustomerrequiresarentalinstrumenttocontinuelaboperationsduringequipmentrepair,standardchargesare10%oftheinstrument’svaluepermonth,plusallairfreightcharges.Minimumrentalisonemonth.
