Hola, Marhaba, Hello, Bonjour, Konnichi wa! Middle/High School lesson plan- Foreign Language Overview This lesson plan uses the new Web 2.0 application Seesmic to allow students to practice speaking their foreign language. Objectives After learning a new round of vocabulary and grammar, students should be able to respond to a discussion question posted on Seesmic speaking only their foreign language. Standards Materials Discussion questions, computer with a webcam, microphone, and internet access Procedures 1. Once students finish learning either a new round of vocabulary or a new grammar structure, have them review them in small groups 2. After this, pass out discussion questions or topics to talk about to students. 3. Students should log on to Seesmic and post an answer to the video post by the teacher. 4. Students are required to respond to at least 2 posts 5. You may add requirements such as using half of the vocabulary words in the initial response, or only using the new tense or grammar structure. Evaluation After completing the responses, students should be more comfortable with the new information as well as score an 80% or better on the actual grading of the assignment.
