Delivering solutions.
Holcim Germany Group
Dear readers,
I am pleased to introduce the Holcim Germany Group to you in this publication. Since the beginning of 2015, we have significantly expanded our presence in Germany. Now, around 1,800 employees work at over 130 sites for our customers. We are one of the largest manufacturers of building materials in Germany and work with around 4,000 customers in the B2B sector. As a subsidiary of the leading international building materials group LafargeHolcim Ltd, we are also well- positioned inter-nationally.
Our core business is the production and sale of cement and special binding agents, aggregates (gravel, sand and crushed stone), ready-mix concrete and precast concrete parts, accompanied by services in the re search & develop-ment, logistics and export sectors. Our services go way beyond that: drawing on our innovative capabilities, many years of experience and technical and logistics skills, we implement customised solutions for our custo-mers for projects of any size. Our fundamental belief is that environmental protection, social responsibility and economic thinking must be combined in harmony in order to achieve long-term success.
The following pages will give you a first impression of Holcim Germany: get to know us – we look forward to enriching your next project!

Core competency: Innovative capacity
Innovative thinking shapes our daily business. The focus is always on the best possible results for our customers.
Your project. Our solution.
Our products are the ideal building materials for an era shaped by urbanisation. We make optimum use of technical potential by developing increasingly sophisticated solutions.

Our annual production volume of approx. 4.6 million tons of cement could be used to
construct a three-lane motor-way from Berlin to Rome.
Taking up challenges
Each project has its own individual profile. Holcim tackles each task with great care and close attention. We offer our tried-and-tested systems or develop individual solutions, such as customised cement or concrete variants.
Building materials in use
Elbphilharmonie, HamburgThe construction of opera houses with spectacular archi -tecture is a real trend in international urban develop-ment. In Hamburg, the Elbphilharmonie concert hall is currently under construction. Its complex architecture is a particular challenge in terms of construction. Holcim has worked in a supplier consortium to produce 63,000 cubic metres of concrete for the new landmark. The production of concrete in strength class C80/95 ( cement: Holcim-Pur 4 R-NA) in particular makes the project one of the most demanding in recent years.
Dortmund-Ems canalIn the aggregates product sector, armour stone is a particular speciality. These stones are used around the Dortmund–Ems canal among other locations. The canal is being expanded by summer 2016 and will be protected with a top layer of armour stone.
Vodafone Campus, DüsseldorfHolcim worked in a supplier consortium to provide concrete for the construction of the Vodafone Group headquarters in Düsseldorf. An imposing complex was created in only 27 months, encompassing a 19-floor office block, car park and underground garage.

Sustainable management
Responsible interaction with society and the environment is a fundamental basis for successful management.
Thinking and acting with a vision
Specifi cally, this means that we develop energy- effi cient, environmentally friendly systems and use alternative raw materials and fuels. We are as committed to protecting nature and biodiversity as we are to education and science.

Our annual production volume of 19.6 million tons of
aggregates could fi ll53 million sand pits.

Taking responsibility
We are committed to taking the lead not only in eco-nomic and technological terms, but also in ecological and social terms. Our business activity aims to satisfy current needs without having a negative impact on the needs of future generations.
Sustainability in practice
Handling natural resources and biodiversityThe production of building materials is based on natural raw materials that are excavated from trenches, quarries or gravel and sand pits. This means constant interventions in nature and the landscape. However, the excavation of raw materials is only a temporary use of the land. Once excavation work ends, the areas are restored to their original natural state and continue to contribute to maintaining biodiversity.
Use of alternative raw materials and fuelsCement production is resource-intensive in terms of fuel and raw materials. Efficient use of naturally occurring raw materials is an essential cornerstone of our environmental policy. Wherever possible, we use waste materials as alternative raw materials and fuels, instead of natural resources.
Education, culture and scienceHolcim is committed to social causes, culture and science. We work closely with non-profit organisiations and local institutions. One example is our long-standing partnership with the HafenCity University (HCU) in Hamburg, where we award the Holcim student prize for sustainability since 2007.

Appreciation at every level
Holcim wants to be a respected, reliable partner for its stakeholders and the most highly-regarded and attractive company in the building materials industry.
Achieving our goal together
Our thoughts and actions are based on partnership. This applies both to our interaction with employees, customers and service providers and with everyone in the communities around our sites.
Further info: www.holcim.de/jobs-karriere
Our annual volume of around 2.2 million m3 of ready-mix concrete could be used to build single-
family homes for approx. 200,000 people.

Partnership in practice
We know that the performance of our employees and the loyalty of our customers form the basis for our suc-cess. Neighbours, universities, authorities, the media and environmental associations are also vital partners.
Relationships for today and tomorrow
Our employees: support and promotionAnyone working at Holcim wants to achieve something for the company and for themselves. Holcim offers jobs that are attractive and demanding. The training we offer ensures that our employees reach their full poten-tial in the best possible way. The priority is health and safety: our training ensures that employees are aware of all possible risks. Our suppliers, subcontractors and visitors are included in this safety awareness.
Our customers: trustworthy partnersOur customers are partners for whom we create added value with our products and know-how. Every day we work on reinforcing our reputation as a solution- orientated and reliable partner. Customer proximity and trust are the best foundations for long-standing partnerships.
Our neighbours: strong togetherCommitment to the communities around our sites is part of who we are. We take on many different forms of social responsibility. It helps that our employees also enjoy lending a helping hand: building playgrounds, running fossil-hunting days at the quarries or teaching road safety for schools and kindergartens.
