A Night on the Town

This opening of the holiday shopping season takes place on Friday evening, Dec. 4, 2015, beginning at 6:00 pm, and ending at approximately 9:00 pm. A long standing tradition of the community, A Night on the Town is a mix of traditional and the contemporary. An evening with a surprise around every corner and a number of things that will entertain, delight and get you in the Holiday Spirit! Shops will stay open late to welcome regular and new customers with special treats and a preview of their large and unique selection of items for the Holidays to help get a head start of the holiday season! The evening also includes the City of Beaufort’s Tree Lighting Ceremony, entertainment by community schools and churches, and a rumored visit from Santa!

LIGHT UP THE NIGHT BOAT PARADE

DECEMBER 5, 2015 AT 5:30PM Take your pick of holiday parades by land/sea in Beaufort. Join Main Street Beaufort, USA, and the Beaufort Sail and Power Squadron Dec. 5, 2015, at 5:30 pm for the Light Up the Night boat parade on the Beaufort River. Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park provides the best view of the parade. The first boats will start arriving at the seawall at the Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park by 5:30 pm. Boats will make passes by the seawall. Hot chocolate will be available courtesy of The Greenery.

CHRISTMAS PARADE

December 6, 2015 at 3:00pm The traditional Beaufort Christmas Parade will pass through the streets of downtown Beaufort. Floats, bands, groups of walkers and personal cars and trucks are expected to participate.

on Friday, December 4th at 5:00 p.m. We will have a

presentation by the M.C. Riley Chorus and a visit from

Santa!

Town of Bluffton Christmas Parade

Saturday, December 5th

10:00 a.m.

Street closures will begin at 9:00 a.m. therefore;

parade entrants need to be within their staging areas

by 8:45 a.m. May River Road (Highway 46) from Buck

Island to Bluffton Road (4-way stop) will be closed as

well as most downtown streets.

The parade starts at Pritchard and Bridge Streets

(Town Hall) and ends at Red Cedar Elementary

School; it's approximately 3 miles long. The parade

usually last 2.5 to 3 hours, rain or shine.

The Holiday Festival of Lights November 13- January 3 Address: James Island County Park Featuring over 700 displays and 2 million lights, the Holiday Festival of Lights is a cherished holiday tradition for many families throughout Charleston and beyond. The James Island County Park comes alive with illumination, and is a great place to capture the magic of the holiday season. The Holiday Festival of Lights has been recognized around the country and the world. It was featured as the only U.S. event in Moscow's Festival of Festivals, Coastal Living recognized it as "One of the Top 10 Holiday Celebrations," the American Bus Association ranked it as "One of the Top 100 Events in the Nation," and it was most recently named one of the "Top 20 Events in the Southeast" by the Southeast Tourism Society More Than Lights... More than just a driving tour, the Holiday Festival of Lights invites you to park your cars and explore all that is offered: Magnificent sculpture made from over 50 tons of sand; An up-close look at the lights on the holiday train; Mouth-watering treats from Santa's Sweet Shoppe; Handmade gingerbread houses; Giant greeting cards created by local students and a Victorian carousel.

1-15 guests: $15 per vehicle 16-30 guests: $40 per vehicle 31+ guests: $100 per vehicle

Give Back! Monday - Thursday, get into the festival for only $10 per vehicle (1-15 guests) with the donation of a non-perishable food item or dog/cat food to benefit the Lowcountry Food Bank. Park fees, operating schedules, and hours are subject to change without notice.

2015 Festival of Trees

A much anticipated annual event scheduled for

December 3rd through the 9th is the Festival of

Trees, benefiting Friends of Caroline Hospice, one of

Beaufort’s beloved holiday celebrations. The 2015

Festival continues a tradition that started twenty-

seven years ago. The Festival showcases beautifully

decorated trees that are judged for their originality

and creativity. The Festival

kicks off with an Opening Gala featuring a silent

auction, wine, beer and appetizers from local

restaurants. on December 8, the Festival will be open

Santa's Castle This will be a fully immersive experience as guests will be able to enter into and tour through Santa’s once secretive castle filled with wonder. Through magical 3D glasses, guests will see Santa’s elves hard at work making toys as Ms. Claus and her helpers are baking up goodies in her special kitchen; all while Santa is preparing for the big night. Welcome To Christmas Town This will be a special stroll down a main street that is all about Christmas. All of the buildings along the street will be fully trimmed in lights as well as a full canopy of lights overhead that stretches the full length of the street; and once every half hour, the entire town will come alive as it produces a magical light show synchronized to music. The town will also include some holiday shops, seasonal food and beverages, plenty of entertainment all topped off with the town's Christmas tree.

Holiday Hayride This is a fun filled, 20 minute ride on a hay wagon that will take guests through the wonderful Christmas story of Ebenezer Scrooge in the Christmas Carol. This magical journey through lights and custom displays will entertain guests with storytelling and music as they experience the magic of Christmas from the point of view of the famous character – Scrooge.
