Betweennowandthestartof2019youmustchooseyourTopic/ThemeyouareinterestedinthatwillbethefocusforyourSATFolio.Youmustbetrulyinterestedandengagedwithyourtopicsothatyouenjoyfocusingonitfortheyear.Youmusthavechosenthistobeabletostartinyourfirstclassback,becauseyouwillbearrangingyourown“WorkPlan”thatstateswhatyouwilldo,andwhenyouwilldoitfromourfirstclassonwards…Tohelpyoutochooseyourtopic/them–startbybrainstormingandcreateamindmapaboutthingsyouwouldliketopursueinStudioArts.Itcouldinclude:thingsyouarepassionateaboutorstronglyconnectto,yourpersonalinterests,hobbies,politicalstances,materialsortechniquesyouwanttoexperimentwith,artelements/principlesyoulikethevisualeffectof,thingsyouareworriedaboutorwouldlovetochampion.

TASK#3 *ResourceTemplateExplorationProposalTobeginyourStudioArtsSATFolio,oneofthefirsttasksthatyoudoiswriteyourExplorationProposalaboutwhatyouaregoingtodofortheyear.Thetopic/themethatyouchoosemuststaywithyouthroughouttheyearandyoucan’tchangefromthis.Youwillalsochoose1-2artforms(mediums)onlythatyouwouldliketofocusoncreatingyourartwithin.Donotchooseanartformthatyouhavenoexperiencein–choosewhatisyourinterestandstrength.Youwillneedtoconsiderthefollowingpointswhenpreparingyournotesforyourwrittendraftexplorationproposal:

Discussionofthefocusandsubjecttobeexplored-topic,theme,concept,content...Inthissection,youneedtoexplainwhatyourfolioisgoingtofocusonandwhatartworksaregoingtobeabout.Thinkabouttheoverarchingtopic/themeyouhavechosenanddiscuss/explain.However,donotreferto“finalartworks”asthisfolioisnotaboutwhatyouwillultimatelymakebecauseyoudonotmakefinalartworksinUnit3.
2. Discussionofconceptualpossibilitiesandideas.
Goingaleveldeeper,nowdiscusswhatarethespecificareas/ideasthatyouaregoingtobeexploring.Thissectionisaboutyourconceptsandideasastheyarerelatedtoyourtopic.Youcouldalsoincludeideasaboutsubjectmatteryouwilluse.
3. Discussionofthesourcesofinspirationandhowtheserelatetoyourindividualideas.Next,youmustdiscusshowyouhavebeeninspired,andwhatby,aboutyourtopic.Inthissection,youcaneitherstartwith“general”sourcesofinspirationor“specific”sources(artists)orviceversa.Youmustdiscussatleast2differentartistsinyourexplorationproposal.Tobeinspiredbyartiststhiscouldbeabouttheirownsubjectmatterandideasreflectedintheirworks(perhapssimilartoyours),ortheartformtheyworkwithinthatyouaregoingtoalso.
