Every September the year sice 1951 , its waters host the Cetmiglia regatta, which through time has becomeinternational in its reach. The elegant outlines o the Centomiglia boat hulls have inspired the amous New Zealand othe Americas Cup. It is the longest regatta to take place in all o Europe on inland waters. The course o the race variesdepending on the type and length o the boat vessels. The single hull boats traditionally set o rom Gargnano and make theirway up the lake to Torbole, travel southward to Desenzano and then return back to Gargnano. The contestants who take partin this race are many (there are always over three hundred hulls on the start mark). The vessels compete against each other,divided into multiple classes, or the prize, which is awarded to the rst boat to cutthe nish line. The Libera del Garda sailing class also participates to the regatta, avery ast and highly technical, open class.
