Make fun recreation opportunities available for all ages.
Little Nichols has limited equipment, some in disrepair.
No activities for teens, families, and adults
Nichols field lacks a modern play structure for kids ages 2-12

THE PROPOSAL
Little Nichols Field
Create more of a PARK atmosphere, to be enjoyed by young children, teens, and adults
Repair old equipment, install new playground equipment, sitting areas, benches and boulders/stone wall. Work with the library to create a more usable and inviting outdoor space.
Nichols Field
Install a small playground (with protective area of 30x28) that will be central to many of the fields and provide play space for children ages 2-12. Adding some seating in the shaded “tree area” for all to enjoy.
New equipment to include: ~20x20 play structure unit
Four new swings
to the existing swing set
Add small benches or picnic tables near equipment

ARTICLE 17 - Petition Article for Playground Equipment
To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate
$50,000 towards the building of a new playground
structure at Nichols Field and improvements and repairs
to the Little Nichols Field (behind the Hollis Social
Library) and to authorize the selectmen to accept
$40,000 from private donations made for this purpose;
the balance of $10,000 to be raised by taxation. The
expenditure of the $10,000 raised by taxation is
contingent upon the $40,000 from donations being
raised from other sources.
