‘If something happens, I would want there to be somebody who would remember that someone named D. Berger had once lived. This will make things easier for me in the difficult moments.’David Berger, in his last letter before being murdered by Nazis in Vilnius, 1941

Last Letters from the Holocaust (ed. Walter Zwi Bacharach), Yad Vashem and Devora Publishing Company, 2004

This annual event is a time for reflection on the genocides that have occurred over the last century and what we can do to build a safer and more inclusive society. The commemoration includes music, poetry, drama and an address by local resident, Mr Leslie Kleinman. Mr Kleinman regularly talks to schools and community groups across Europe about his experiences in Auschwitz, promoting love, tolerance and respect amongst all people.

This free event is open to all and guests are invited to arrive early in order to view the exhibitions. Parking is available in the Civic Centre car park, off Carnarvon Road, and will be free for this event.
