Congratulations to St. Mary’s School Principal Gary Molloy. He will be leaving us to join the VI Government as a commissioner. We are thankful for all he has done for our school. We wish him success. Segundo Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario
Recibid nuestra fraternal bienvenida al inicio de la Eucaristìa. Comenzábamos el lunes pasado la primera fase del Tiempo Ordinario que nos llevará hasta el 6 de marzo-- Miércoles de Ceniza-- en que iniciaremos la Cuaresma. Hoy, en este II Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario, vamos a asistir al primer milagro de la vida pública de Jesús de Nazaret. A petición de su Madre, María, transforma 600 litros de agua en vino de excelente calidad. A los novios se les agotaba el vino para agasajar a sus invitados y la Virgen quiso evitarles esa vergüenza. Es un comienzo muy singular por parte de Jesús... en una boda, una celebración llena de alegría y esperanza. Por otro lado, Pablo nos va a hablar del Espíritu Santo, el gran inspirador de toda acción religiosa. Y esta semana también, mañana, lunes, 18, comenzábamos el Octavario de Oración por la Unidad de los Cristianos. El Espíritu ha de estar con nosotros para conseguir lo que Cristo siempre nos pidió: que todos sus seguidores fuéramos uno en el amor… Hoy es, asimismo, la Jornada Mundial por el emigrante y el refugiado. Las migraciones –emigrantes, inmigrantes y refugiados— están muy presentes en nuestra vida actual. Demos la importancia que tiene dicha celebración pontificia y ayudemos con nuestra oración y nuestro apoyo material a un fin muy actual y muy notable. Y en muchos con mucho dolor y no pocas victimas… Primera lectura El profeta Isaías en la primera lectura nos desvela una profecía muy singular para nosotros: el Mesías es presentado como el Esposo de Israel que traería la paz y la alegría a su pueblo. Y como seguiremos viendo todas las lecturas de hoy tienen ese contenido especial de matrimonio, de esponsales entre Dios y su pueblo. Salmo responsorial El salmo 95 tenía para el pueblo judío la idea de un Dios único y portador de toda la fuerza. Y era el pueblo de Israel quien debía de comunicar a todos los demás pueblo esa realidad importante y alegre. Esta idea de Dios como rey universal llega hasta nosotros y por eso le cantamos y le festejamos. Segunda lectura La lectura de la Primera Carta de San Pablo a los fieles de Corinto nos acompañará hasta el domingo quinto de este primer tramo del tiempo ordinario, como segunda lectura de nuestras eucaristías. Refiere los diferentes dones y carismas que el Espíritu Santo otorga a los fieles para vivir mejor y ser más felices puestos todos en presencia de Dios
Evangelio Jesús de Nazaret inicia su misión en una boda, por indicación de su Madre, la Virgen María y convirtiendo considerables cantidades de agua en un vino excelente. No puede haber principio más bello y alegre. El episodio de las Bodas de Caná merece toda nuestra atención al escucharlo y reflexionar, después, en él por su significado y matices.
Oración San Miguel Arcángel, defiéndenos en la batalla. Sé nuestro amparo contra la perversidad y asechanzas del demonio. Reprímale Dios, pedimos suplicantes, y tú Príncipe de la Milicia Celestial, arroja al infierno con el divino poder a Satanás y a los otros espíritus malignos que andan dispersos por el mundo para la perdición de las almas. Amén."
ANTES DE FINALIZAR… Antes de finalizar esta Eucaristía, Señor, queremos darte gracias por tu presencia en medio de nuestra fiesta. Sin Ti, no sería lo mismo. Sin Ti, nos faltaría algo. Sin Ti, no tendríamos fuerzas para seguir adelante.
Ayúdanos Señor a descubrir en tu persona la huella de Dios y a dejarnos transformar por tu mano que siempre es poderosa por tu Palabra que siempre es sabia por tus caminos, que siempre son seguros por tu mirada, que siempre es profunda por María, que desea siempre el bien de todos nosotros. Amén.
