Set the Eucharist as the center of your personal life and community life: love the Eucharist, adore the Eucharist and celebrate it, especially on Sundays, the Lord's Day. Live the Eucharist by testifying to God's love for every person. ~Pope Saint John Paul II

Care Net Fundraiser Dear St Thomas More parishioners, You have probably noticed the basket of baby bottles in the vestibule of the church and in the hall. Many of you are familiar with this fund raiser for Care Net and have already picked up your bottle to fill with coins, checks, or dollars. Thank you for your participation in helping to keep this vital service to families on our beloved Ridge. Families and especially women, in your own neighborhood may be benefiting from the services that Care Net offers for free. If you have not yet picked up a baby bottle, please take one today and prayerfully consider what God would have you give. As you may remember, the bottles need to be returned by Father's Day to the church depository in the vestibule or to the church office.

~Kathy DeCristofaro

Art Benefit for the SHOR Homeless Center Artist and parishioner Michele Myers is displaying her original artwork and photography at the Sojourners House on the Ridge homeless support center for the benefit of guests and volunteers. She will sell any of her framed original artwork (in the main room and SHOR's private office) for a direct donation to SHOR. A list of suggested donations is in the SHOR office. She is also willing to make a print of any of the originals for a smaller donation. You may view the art during SHOR's regular hours of 12:00pm-4:00pm, Monday through Friday. SHOR center is behind the Paradise Lutheran Church on Skyway, next to Terry Ashe Park. Just follow the signs. For more information, contact Michele at

872-4553.

We will be featuring a farewell to our beloved Rundle family who will be leaving our area on June 13 to relocate to Minnesota. Our guest speaker for the evening will be Stephanie Gregorio. Stephanie is the director of SHOR. She will be talking to us about SHOR’s new, year-round program and the addition of counseling and guidance programs. Please bring your favorite hot dish, salad or desert to share with your fellow parishioners. The Knights will be supplying a large cake, beer, wine and soft drinks. We will also setup a “Money Tree” and basket for cards. For further information, please call Lou Gervais, Council 7773

Table of Plenty We are urgently seeking a volunteer (or two) to pick up produce from the Chico Farmer’s Market for Table of Plenty. For the past two years, we have been able to offer fresh produce to our clients because it has been picked up every Saturday by volunteers. With the large amount of produce that is being donated, we now need additional help. If you would like to find out more about how you can help, please call Norma

Degmetich at 873-4913.

Matthew 25:35, 40

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I

was thirsty and you gave me drink...I assure

you, as often as you did it for one of my least

brothers, you did it for me.

Anyone wanting to donate plants for this sale can bring them on Saturday the 21st at 1:00pm. Year of Mercy – Reflection "Human beings, whenever they judge, look no farther than the surface, whereas the Father looks into the very depths of the soul. ... To refrain from judgment and condemnation means, in a positive sense, to know how to accept the good in every person and to spare him any suffering that might be caused by our partial judgment and our presumption to know everything about him. But this is still not sufficient to express mercy. Jesus asks us also to forgive and to give. To be instruments of mercy because it was we who first received mercy from God.”

~Pope Francis

Articles and Ministry News

If a man finds it very hard to forgive injuries, let him look at a crucifix, and think that Christ has shed all His Blood for him, and not only forgave his enemies, but prayed the Eternal Father to forgive them also. ~St. Philip Neri

Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy “Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful” (Lk 6:36).
