“CBSM has catapulted me into being a joyful missionary disciple. I am forever changed and will never be the same again. Praise God!”
“I have been able to hear Him speaking to me, and that is the best! I’m living more the new evangelization!”
“I found a deeper understanding of Mass.“”
I am developing a relationship with God which I never had before.”
“It is so relevant to my everyday life!”
oday, when few
things remain
certain in which to place
our trust, one thing
stands firm – the Word
of God. Through the
Scriptures, the Father
who is in Heaven meets
us with great love, invites
us to get to know Him,
and gives us hope for the
future. God is constant.
He is reliable. And
He wants to be our
light in the darkness.
T
Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am
the light of the world; he who follows
me will not walk in darkness, but
will have the light of life.”

Did not our
hearts burn
within us... while
he opened to us
the Scriptures?

Accessible to AllCBSM is a non-profit lay apostolate funded through donations/tuition with a generous “open arms” approach to meeting 100% of financial aid requests. We suggest an annual tuition of $580 with a 50% discount for additional family members. Some give more, some give less, and through God’s provision, we’ve been able to welcome every person who desires to know God through His Word, regardless of financial means.
you’re invited to prayerfully encounter the Word of God anew with a Catholic Biblical School of Michigan (CBSM) class at a parish near you.
Since 2010, CBSM has been helping Catholics study Scripture so that they can encounter Jesus Christ, grow as disciples, and share the Good News, reaching thousands in the Archdiocese of Detroit and the Dioceses of Lansing, Grand Rapids, and Kalamazoo.
Whether you’re a long-time student of the Scriptures or a beginner, a CBSM class is a place to discover the timelessness of God’s Word and transform our lives as disciples of Jesus in His Church.
Inspired InstructorsJesus invested deeply in the Twelve, spending three years explaining Israel’s Scriptures and proclaiming God’s Kingdom to them in a direct, person-to-person way. Our instructors are dynamic, faith-filled adjunct faculty members of Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, each with a Master’s Degree or higher. Through weekly lectures and written feedback, instructors engage and guide participants along the pathway of discipleship.
Community and ConnectionPrayer, catechesis, and applications to the life of a disciple are revealed from Scripture, through Tradition, so that God can transform our lives as a community of disciples studying God’s Word. A portion of each class includes guided small group discussion, a place to grow confident in sharing God’s love and truth. Participants convey how much they look forward to and benefit from their small group discussion.
Powerful Curriculum CBSM offers the unique opportunity for an in-depth, Catholic study of the entire Bible led by expert in-person instructors. During the first year, we trace the story of God’s People through the historical books of the Old Testament, discovering that this is our story, our family, and the basis for Jesus’ earthly ministry. Optionally, classes may be taken for credit with Sacred Heart Major Seminary.
