Dear Parishioners,
In conjunction with our parish
finance council it pleases me to
announce that with the permission of
our Bishop David M. O’Connell and
the financial support of the diocese,
Holy Family Church has purchased the
property on the corner of Hwy.36 and Fr. Fitzpatrick
Way, adjacent to our parking lot. The acquisition of
this property has been a long- time goal of the parish,
which will assist us in the long-term future plans.
Most of you are already aware of the fact that Holy
Family Church has applied to Hazlet Township for the
rezoning of the front portion of our school property to
Business/Highway in order to prepare the parcel of
land for sale. Without an active school it is no longer
possible or practical for the parish to sustain the
expenses of the Hazlet buildings and acreages. We must
begin to prepare our plans for the future of the parish
and this will be the beginning.
At this point in time there are no definite answers
for the surrounding neighbors as to what will
eventually become of the property on the Hazlet side of
the highway but I don’t believe we will be shopping at
Walmart.
I ask for your patience and continued support over
the months and years ahead. Let us all pray that the
Holy Family will keep us in their care and that our
parish will go forward in its ministries of educating our
young and old in spiritual and social matters and in
serving the needy of the surrounding communities.
Fr. Mark
