DEAR HOLY FAMILY PARISHIONERS: This is Trinity Sunday. This is the Sunday of the year that we celebrate one of the deepest mysteries of our Catholic faith. The mystery is that God is One Nature, yet Three Persons. The mystery is that God is Creator, Re-deemer, & Sanctifier. God is Creator. God loved us so much that we were created. We have the life-breath of our Creator in us, as it says in the 2nd chapter of Genesis. In God’s image we have been created. WOW! What a responsibility to carry out in the our lives. Our Creator God has immense love for us, the created. Our Creator has put His life in each of us. Thus, we should respect the God-life of those around us. God is Redeemer. Jesus has saved us all. Our sins have been taken away. WOW! How fortunate we are to have such a Savior. We have been redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb. Jesus is that God-made-Flesh who walked the Way of Calvary for our salvation. He suf-fered, died, & rose so that we might be freed from sin & death & be in the eternal peace of heaven. Our life is a response to that saving & redeeming event. God is Sanctifier. The Holy Spirit sanctifies the world. WOW! The presence of God through the Holy Spirit makes the world holy. The Holy Spirit is the One who enlivens us & purifies us & blesses us as we daily live. Our souls are filled with the Holy Spirit, & we are to live in the Spirit of God. Let us thank God for this beautiful, yet indecipher-able, mystery. May the Father-Creator, the Son-Redeemer, the Holy Spirit-Sanctifier come into our lives in a deeper way! YOUR PASTOR, FATHER JOE

MARK YOUR CALENDARS for the weekend of July 8th & 9th. Fr. Michael Friedel will return to our parish & preside at all the Masses that weekend. There will be a reception in our Parish Center after each Mass.

PROTECTING GOD’S CHILDREN CLASS There will be a class on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at 1:00 in the St. James Parish House basement. Please call 429-5363 or email [email protected] to register. All parents of children who are attending Holy Fam-ily School & who will be volunteering at the school will need the class. Grandparents are also encouraged to take the class. If you are thinking of volunteering, we encourage you to take this class. You only have to take it once, and after your background check, you are ready to volunteer!

A NOTE FROM OUR DEACON: I’m excited for the opportunity to have a short section in the bulletin each week during my time at Holy Family. Fr. Joe has given me “free reign” on what to write about…hopefully he won’t regret it! For this week I just want to say thank you again for the welcome, my summer is off to a great start. I enjoyed preaching last weekend very much and on Sunday had the awesome opportunity to drive to St. Joe’s in Chatham after the Holy Family Masses to baptize the daughter of my college roommate and best friend, which was my first baptism! It was powerful and hum-bling to administer the sacrament and also a great re-minder of the dignity that God gives each of us through the grace of baptism. Your baptism makes you a son/daughter of God and an heir to His entire Kingdom, put that reality into practice this week in simple and concrete ways! - Deacon Rob

A Parent’s Dream Our Father who art in Heaven, I am a parent on earth.

You have given me this gift and responsibility Grant me the wisdom to carry it out.

Let my parent-hood be one of encouragement and support.

Not of expectations and control. Let me protect my children, but not too much.

Advise them but just a little. Let me respect them as individuals,

not as extensions of myself. Let me be honest about my feelings towards them, in-cluding my anger, disappointment, hurt, excitement,

joy and love. Let me be firm without dominating them.

Let me be sensitive to their feelings without trying to change them.

Let me be there for them when they need me and get out of their way when they don’t.

Let me offer them the roots of belonging and the wings of freedom.

Help me, Father in Heaven, to be a Parent on Earth.
