STEWARDSHIP REFLECTIONS September 17th —24th Sunday in Ordinary Time

“For if we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord; so then, whether we live or die,

we are the Lord’s” - Romans 14:8 This is the essence of stewardship – everything we have and everything we are is a gift from God. We aren’t “owners” of anything, we are merely “stewards” of the gifts that God has given us, espe-cially our very own lives. Pray to God daily, and ask him how he wants you to use the gifts he has given you.

RETIREMENT & FAREWELL DINNER FOR JOZEF: After twenty-four years of dedicated service to our parish as custo-dian/sacristan, Jozef Kolvek will be retiring at the end of this year and returning to his home in Slovakia. On Satur-day, October 21st, we will be holding a catered dinner in his honour in our parish hall fol-

lowing the 5:00pm Mass. Tickets will be on sale for $20.00 each beginning this weekend after Mass and through the parish office on weekdays during business hours.

Whether or not you know Jozef personally, you do know him through the work he has done for us for over two decades often quietly in the background. He will be sorely missed! This special meal pro-vides us with an opportunity to acknowledge his contributions to our parish and to express our per-sonal and collective gratitude. Please join us for fellowship, a fine meal, and stories to be told and heard. —Fr. Lawrence Holland
