A Message from Father Armand: I know it sounds like you keep hearing this week after week, but please remember that next weekend we switch to the summer mass schedule. As creatures of habit we need to be reminded often about changes like this so that we don’t become confused and frustrated.

It has become very obvious that many have already begun their annual summer exodus. Our attendance has become noticeably fewer, and my conversations with other local pastors confirms that we are not alone. With the advent of nice weather, many took the opportunity to go away early. Many people will be travelling this summer and I sincerely hope that everyone is able to take some time to just rest and relax. We live in a world that is so stressful that even just a few days of “down time” is vitally important for everyone.

Finally, with the arrival of warmer weather comes the temptation to dress in a far more abbreviated manner. I remind you that the church is airconditioned and is a sacred place of worship. Very brief, or revealing, attire which may be perfectly appropriate elsewhere, is not appropriate for church. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Today we are visited by a representative of the Carmelite Religious Community who is here to make the annual Mission Appeal. We will have special second collection to support the various ministries they are involved in. Our parish is famous for its support of visiting missionaries and I certainly hope that we will continue to do the same this year.

Fr. Armand
