HOLY TRINITY CATHOLIC PARISH MISSION STATEMENT Committed to living out the endless love of the Trinity, we are a welcoming, faith-sharing Catholic family of believers,
centered on the Holy Eucharist as the source of our life in Christ.
The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick will be offered during the 8:15am Mass Saturday, February 11. The Sacrament celebrates the comfort of Christ and the prayers of the Church for any Catholic person who has been baptized, is of sufficient age to be comforted by the Sacrament, and who:
♦ Has long-term physical, mental or emotional illness ♦ Is preparing for or recovering from hospitalization or
surgery ♦ May have a health condition that is controlled at the
moment but could recur, such as a heart problem or cancer
A homebound or hospitalized person wanting to receive the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick should call the parish office at 630.968.1366. Priests can be available to minister to the homebound at pre-arranged times; please advise your family and friends to be proactive in this regard. May the persons anointed and those who love them be given God’s grace!

Bishop Robert Barron’s CATHOLICISM: The Pivotal Players showcases a handful of saints, artists, mystics, and scholars who not only shaped the life of the Church but changed the course of western civilization. ST. FRANCIS of ASSISI, the Reformer, radically and literally lived as Jesus commanded to transform the Church. ST. THOMAS AQUINAS, the Theologian, demonstrated faith and reason are not at odds, they come from same source. ST. CATHERINE of SIENA, the Mystic, gave testimony to the reality of the spiritual dimension here and beyond. BLESSED JOHN HENRY NEWMAN, the Convert, left a prestigious career to seek and preach the apostolic faith. G.K. CHESTERTON, the Evangelist, publicly, humbly, and humorously announced the paradoxes and truth of Christianity. MICHELANGELO, the Artist, dramatically demonstrated that beauty and creativity are a primary route of access to God. Journey with Bishop Barron to explore the lasting influence of these Pivotal Players. www.WordOnFire.org + www.PivotalPlayers.com

From the time we started having adoration every day, our love for Jesus became more intimate, our love for each other more understanding , our love
for the poor more compassionate, and we have doubled the number of vocations....The time we
spend in having our daily audience with God is the most precious part of the whole day.
St. Teresa of Calcutta
Join our ranks of registered adorers and pray for an increase in vocations.

In celebration of National Catholic Schools Week, Holy Trinity Catholic School hosted its annual
Open House on Sunday, January 29th. School was in session allowing visitors an opportunity to
attend a class, investigate science fair displays, hear the piano and instrumental music
students perform, test out a SMARTBoard, see the Art Fair, and much more! If you were not
able to attend the Open House but are interested in learning more about Holy Trinity School or
would like to arrange a tour, please contact the school office.
Financial Aid is available through the Catholic Education Foundation (CEF) for the Diocese of
Joliet. The CEF distributes hundreds of needs-based scholarships each year to students in
grades K through 12. The tuition assistance grants are determined on an annual basis so
families must apply each year in order to be considered. As in years past, FACTS Grant Aid &
Assessment will be conducting the financial needs analysis. It is only available online. You can
link to the website at https://online.factsmgt.com/signin/41WSC.
Families are encouraged to complete this application as soon as possible to ensure that all
required documentation is submitted by the March 1st deadline. Please note that all requests
for assistance from Holy Trinity Parish will also be based on the submission of FACTS
application. Families must complete the FACTS to be considered. Grant notification letters will
be mailed from the CEF by the end of May. The award checks will be sent directly to the school.
Please contact Dr. Simon with any questions or for assistance with completing the online
application.

Thank you to Deacons Tony Lenard and Pat Blaney who graciously celebrated Adoration and Benediction with our FCFF families at our January sessions. May God continue to bless you in your
ministry. The February FCFF classes will be held next week on Monday, February 13th and Wednesday, February 15th.
Parents of Holy Trinity children preparing to receive First Holy Communion: This week, please help your child study Chapter 26, “What We Do at Mass,” in the Jesus Our Life Book. This chapter will give your child a better understanding of the Mass and a list of Catholic vocabulary words. Then, complete the chapter review sheets in the blue handbook. Continue using The Holy Mass booklet during Sunday Mass and help your child fill in the “missing words.”
Junior High School and Religious Education Students should be routinely working on their grade-level handbooks: Sixth Grade students – be sure to check out the videos on the RE website under 6th Grade Salvation History tab while you begin your February study on the prophets, pages 28-33; Seventh grade students should be working on Prayers and Practices in the Doctrine Review handbook, pages 40-46; and Eighth grade students are working towards completing their service projects, as well as completing the red Confirmation Handbook and Student-Sponsor Activity Booklet. Spirit Day is coming up on Saturday, February 11th for those signed up for this first one.
Please email or call the RE office at 630.968.5978 with any questions about these grade-level assignments.
Please remember Holy Trinity Parish in your will and estate planning. Please call the Parish Office at

Join us for our usual Thursday Prayer Nights, with one slight change for February. We will gather to pray before Jesus in our Sacred Heart Adoration Chapel at a slightly earlier time - 6:30pm until 7:45pm - and welcome all young adult families to join us for as long they can before bedtime for the little ones. Also, we will be trying something new for Thursday Night Prayer. For those that can rarely make Thursdays because of scheduling conflicts, one Thursday a month will switch to the preceding Tuesday for 'Praise and Worship Tuesday' in the Youth Room at 7pm. For February, instead of meeting Thursday, February 23, we will switch to Tuesday, February 21.

The Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal (CMAA) helps our parish and the Diocese of Joliet to provide countless ministries, programs and services to support our friends and neighbors in immeasurable ways. Information about the 2017 CMAA and a request to make a pledge has been sent to all parishioners. Please review the materials, pray about how you can help further the ministries funded by our CMAA, and consider making the most generous gift possible. Our parish goal is $82,840. Help us to exceed this goal in paid pledges. Our parish will receive 70% of the amount over goal for use in our parish! Together, we can continue to spread the Gospel message in our Diocese through our ministries and help God hold us in His hands. Thank you in advance for your support.
