sented to encourage us to put our faith into practice.

What is the RCIA Rite of Acceptance into the Order of Catechumens?
The Rite of Acceptance into the Order of Catechu-mens is for inquirers in the RCIA process who are preparing for their Baptism. They are now ready to publicly declare their intention to continue their journey towards becoming Catholics. At this Rite, they are asked to more fully embrace the Gospel message with the help of God, and are also signed with the Cross to show that they now belong to Christ, the Shepherd of souls. In this Rite, the parish community has the opportunity to more fully participate in and pray for those in the RCIA process. At Sunday Mass, some of the inquirers who are considering joining the Catholic Church are going through the Rite of Acceptance. This Rite places these catechumens in a formal relationship with the universal Church. By Church law, the Pope and all bishops are to pray for those who have gone through this Rite.

Camp Monahan: As we come to the end of the year, we graciously
celebrate and acknowledge all who contributed to the life and work of Camp Monahan in 2016. Consider giving“The Gift of Camp this Christmas” 'cause Christmas
really is for kids! How? Here are a few suggestions:
with a donation of $50, you will make a BIG difference by covering the
costs associated with one day of camp for one camper in 2017.
become a member of the Monahan Association. For $10/year, you can show that you believe in the difference that camp is making for so many children. If everyone came together, the membership fees would cover the cost of some of our wish list items like the printing of our staff train-ing manuals (approximately $800) and new shelving for our walk-in
cooler (valued at $500).
Thank you for bestowing your blessings upon us. Merry Christmas on
behalf of the Board, staff and especially the kids! For more information -
306.522.1047 or [email protected]. To donate, visit
www.campmonahan.ca (also by credit card, through Canada Helps).
