Do you put other “gods” before God? Is your love of money, power, status or some personal possession greater than your love for God? Do you really recognize that everything you have and everything you are is a gift from God? The good news – it’s not too late to put God first in your life in all things.
Love the Lord,
your God

Archbishop’s Appeal 2017 The theme of this Sunday’s readings is love. Jesus reminds us that the most important duty of a Christian is to love the Lord with his whole self and to also love his neighbor as himself. But love of neighbor is not always an easy task, especially when we recognize that others don’t always treat
us with that sense of selfless love and, in fact, can be downright cruel to us at times. Nonetheless, Christ’s law of love stands firm. We are to love. Always! Jesus offers us the perfect example of selfless love on the cross in reparation for our sins. He gave his life so that we could enjoy everlasting life. The stewardship way of life calls us to follow Jesus’ example and act on this selfless love. By doing so, we set an example and call others to follow Christ. The Lord has given us the gift of love through His own suffering and death. What’s more, He has given us our time, our talent, and our treasure, and it is our duty as stewards of these gifts to use them at every opportunity the Lord provides us at our disposal like the Archbishop’s Appeal to reach out in love
for Him and our neighbor in need of His love.
If you did not receive your personal donation cards in the mail, there are
extra pledge cards/brochures in the Gathering Area.
You may donate to the Appeal throughout the year, using the monthly
offering envelope in our envelope boxes. (If you wish to have donation
envelopes, fill out a pew envelope, or contact the office.) You may also
use the CanadaHelps electronic giving website (link on our parish
website) and select "Annual Appeal".
You may also just choose to make a one-time donation during this Fall
Campaign. The various options for making a donation are available so
that you may contribute to the mission of the church in our midst in a way
that suits you.

BUILDING COMMUNITY WITH OUR SCHOOLS
St. Mary's School would be delighted if people would be willing to stay about 15 minutes after morning Mass on Wednesdays to read with the school children who come to Mass that day. Please consider sharing your
time with the children.
St. Joan of Arc is asking if any parishioners would be willing to come to the school to read with their Grade 3 children. Grade 3 is a critical year in the development of children's reading skills. Studies have shown that the odds for graduating Grade 12 increase exponentially in children who can read by the end of Grade 3. Please consider being a part of this life changing ministry. If you are interested please contact Matt Brown or Kenna Nelson at St. Joan
of Arc School 306-791-7350.
Greeting Cards sets—include a variety of 24 cards and an
attractive organizer box. $20 available from the office during
office hours or at parish functions including the Fowl Supper.

Is it time for a change? Walking Toward Eternity is an inspiring series , featuring Jeff Cavins, designed to help you live your faith more fully by developing and nurturing characteristics that are essential to the Christian life. Through daily prayer and meditation with Scripture, you will be drawn into an intimate and life-changing encounter with Christ. As you prayerfully reflect on God’s Word, you will begin to hear the subtle ways God is speaking to you, and you will be challenged to set aside those things in your life that keep you from growing closer to him. By putting the fruits of your study into practice, you will be able to make real changes in your life, changes that will make you more like the person God created you to be. Walking Toward Eternity, Daring to Walk the Walk introduces seven key virtues and outlines practical steps for living them out in your life. Join us for Walking Toward Eternity at beginning Mondays, Nov. 13 to Dec. 4 and Jan. 8 to 29 (8 weeks) 9:15 am. Sign up sheet in the Gathering Area. For more information or to register
for the study, call Brenda (306) 530-1412 or [email protected]
