“So, therefore,

whoever of you

who does not

give up all their

(Luke 14:33)

When we first hear this statement, it seems that Jesus is making an unrealistic demand upon us. How can we renounce all of our possessions? We need them to live. However, what we must renounce is the belief that they belong to us. Everything that we have belongs to God alone. All of our resources are entrusted to us not only for our own use, but also so that we can help others. Once we renounce the idea that we possess or are entitled to anything, it is much easier to share the many gifts that God has given us. Then we truly are His Disciples.

Ephesians Bible Study at Holy Trinity—Monday mornings, 9:15 am for

8 weeks starting September 16 (no class on holidays)

Join us for this Jeff Cavins study on DVD. Paul’s letter to the Ephesians reveals many remarkable gifts of the Church — as a body, a household, a mystery, a communion, a bride, an army. Register at Holy Trinity by signing the list in the Gathering Area. For more information or to register, contact

Phyllis (306) 949-1709 or Marcie (306) 450-8304

Baptism Preparation Next session is Tues. Oct. 15 at 7 pm. Call Val 306-924-2602 to register. Fee is $20. Preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Confirmation & First Holy Communion

Registration for these sacraments may be made now by calling Val Magnuson, Pastoral Assistant at 306-924-2602. If your child was not baptized at Holy Trinity Parish, we need the full name and address of the church in which the child was baptized along with a copy of the Baptism Certificate. Registration fee is $50 for one child or $75 for a family. Parent Information Meeting will be held Thursday, September 12 at 7:00 pm in the Church. For more information and to register, contact Val.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

The RCIA is a process for adults seeking initiation into the Catholic Church. Weekly gatherings consist of prayer and sharing as we come to discover where God is calling each individual. The process is open to those:

not baptized

baptized in another denomination now seeking to make a profession of faith in the Catholic Church and be confirmed and receive Holy Eucharist

baptized Catholics who have not completed their Christian Initiation (have not been Confirmed and/or have not received First Eucharist)

Catholics wanting to learn more about their faith are encouraged to participate in any of the other faith enrichment programs being offered in our parish.

The RCIA journey involves the faith community as a whole by deepening its own conversion to Christ and by providing a prayerful example of Christian living for those inquiring into the Catholic faith. RCIA sessions begin Wed. Sept. 18 at 7 pm.

For children 7 years and older who have not been baptized, we have RCIA for Children beginning Thursday, September 19 at 7:00 p.m.

For more information regarding RCIA for adults or children, and to register, contact Val Magnuson at 306-924-2602.

Presenter will be Dr. Juanita Elford, Waste Minimization Management Specialist working in the Public Works Yards of the City of Regina. This is a timely topic on waste reduction, composting and recycling which fits in with CWL’s current theme of “care for our common home.”

The Archdiocese of Regina Lay Formation Program "I'd love to take the course, but I want to wait until; my kids are grown, I can slow down at work, I'm retired..." The sad truth is, nearly 75% of young people, even those raised in religious homes, will leave the Church by the time they are 25 - well before many of us retire! Some of the most common reasons given for leaving one's faith behind include; perceived conflicts between faith and science, Christians behaving badly, a lack of evidence for the existence of God and difficulties with some of the Church's teachings. Our sons and daughters need mentors who are "well-trained and animated by a sincere faith…whose life has been touched by the personal

and merciful love of Jesus Christ" (Pope Francis).

Currently accepting applications for Fall intake. For more information or to register, contact our Program Coordinator, Deacon Eric Gurash at

306-352-1651 ext. 211 or email him at [email protected]

ROSARY PRAYER FOR CANADA until Oct 7 (Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary), join in praying the 54-Day Rosary Novena for Our Nation, and finally, on Sunday, October 13, join Catholics around the world in praying a PUBLIC Rosary, with Rosary Coast to Coast especially for CANADA; for a pro-family, pro-life government in Canada. For more info, see previous week’s bulletin online.

"When people say the Rosary together, it is far more formidable to the devil, than one said privately. Because in this public prayer, it is an army that is attacking him. He can often overcome the prayer of an individual, but if this prayer is joined to other Christians, the devil has much more trouble in get-

ting the best of it." - St Louis de Montfort.
