ANTI-BULLYING WEEK: 12th – 16th NOVEMBERThe theme for this year's Anti-Bullying Week is to choose respect over bullying.Following a consultation by the Anti-Bullying Alliance, it emerged that a top priority was showing that bullying is a behaviour choice, and that children and young people can set a positive example by opting to respect each other at school, in their homes and communities, and online. The aims of this week are to help children to understand:

- The definition of respect- That bullying is a behaviour choice- That we can respectfully disagree

with each other i.e. we don’t have to be best friends or always agree with each other but we do have to respect each other

- That we all need to choose to respect each other both face to face and online

We will have a special assembly on Friday 16th November where each class will share what they have learnt this week. Parents/carers are very welcome to join us.

Thought for the Week:Kindness consists of loving people more than

they perhaps deserve.

A FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY!We are delighted to share with you that Miss Tierney (as a Maths Leader) has been selected as one of only two teachers in the Yorkshire and Humberside region to visit Shanghai this month for two weeks to observe, research and teach. We are also very proud to share that we have been selected to host the visit of two Shanghai teachers in January.Miss Mallice and Miss Lamb will be ensuring that our Year 2 children continue to receive the first class teaching they have enjoyed so far this year!

IN NOVEMBER, WE REMEMBERThe Chaplaincy Team have prepared the Sanctuary Garden for November. Children and staff can enjoy a quiet space to remember and reflect on their loved ones who are no longer with them and those who have given up their lives for others.

Mr Price has recently lost his mother; please keep him and his family in your prayers.

Thank you for your continued support. E. McDonagh-SmithHead Teacher
