ABOUT EVA’S INITIATIVESEva’s provides safe shelter, training, counselling and a wide range of innovative programs and services to help homeless and at-risk youth reach their potential to lead productive, self-sufficient and healthy lives. With cutting-edge services and distinctive programming, Eva’s offers a continuum of service not available anywhere else in Canada. Locally Eva’s operates three unique shelters which house and feed 114 youth aged 16-24 each night. Nationally, Eva’s works to build innovative & long-term solutions to youth homelessness.

• Each year, Eva’s helps over 2,300 homeless and at-risk youth to get off the street, find housing and community supports, and begin to rebuild their future.

• At Eva’s Phoenix, a transitional housing and employment facility, 1,303 youth have participated in Eva’s employment and pre-apprenticeship programs since 2000.

• Eva’s operates a Social Enterprise, the Print Shop, a commercial print and graphics business and training program. It has connected over 150 youth with career building opportunities in the graphic communications sector.

• Over 80% of youth who complete the Print Shop Training Program connect with full-time work.

• Eva’s Harm Reduction & Wellness Program is one of the only programs in Canada offered every day effectively serving homeless youth with addictions.

• In 2011, the Family Reconnect Program helped 53 youth return home from the shelter system, move into supportive or independent community housing and remain home through early intervention—saving the Toronto shelter system almost $275,000 (based on an average 3-month stay).
