A healthy startNutrition sits at the very heart of our business.
Together with Annabel Karmel, we recognise the key role good food and healthy diets plays in a child’s life-long development. What they eat now will shape their future preferences. That’s why we believe it’s our job to introduce them to a world of tasty, healthy food.
Our nutrient based standards for our nursery menus have been designed around the guidance provided by the Caroline Walker Trust for Under 5’s, which is a trust dedicated to the improvement of public health through good food. Our menus also comply with the current guidelines for nursery schools as set out by the School Food Trust Primary Nutritional Standards.
All our meat is sourced from animal welfare accredited suppliers, and we can offer a full halal menu if preferred. We ensure our menus include a range of dishes from a variety of cultures from around the world, and we include lots of different fruits and vegetables. This ties back to our mission to promote healthy, balanced diets and encourage positive eating habits from a young age.
We pride ourselves on having an expert ordering system in place to ensure that every child, no matter what their requirement, receives the correct meal to support their needs, and we specialise in catering for food allergies, intolerances and culture requirements.

Meet AbigailFounder of the Yum Yum Food Company, Abigail balances running her successful and ever-growing catering business with raising two rather cheeky boys Harry and Thomas.
Abigail started her career in the city, working on IT projects in a variety of Investment Banks. After a year off, she was ready for a career change.
Passionate about nutrition, food provenance and sustainability, Abigail set to work researching the food challenges faced by nurseries and primary schools. She realised an opportunity in the market to provide a quality, cost effective service for the early years sector and set to work on a food delivery solution that would enable every child to flourish.
In 2003, the Yum Yum Food Company was born; perfectly balanced and delicious meals cooked-up and delivered at affordable prices.
In March 2019, Abigail met Annabel Karmel whilst sampling her nursery recipes at a big nursery trade show. Annabel stopped by her stand to taste her food and the pair got chatting. Realising they shared the same passion for providing the freshest, yummiest meals and the best nourishment for children, an instant connection was made.
They formed a partnership and spent countless hours in Annabel’s kitchen doing what they love best; developing deliciously balanced recipes to fuel busy days of play, learning and development.
