HOMEWORK 2 – INSTITUTIONS RESEARCH
Billbord is published by a comapany called Prometheus Global Media. Prometheous Global Media is a New York City based business media company. The company was formed in December 2009 b the sake if the entertainment and media vision of Nielsen Company.
The company owns and operarates a number of major entertainment industrytrade publications, including Adweek, Back Stage, Billboard, Film Journal International, and The Hollywood Reporter.
Target Audience
Prometheus Global Media’s target audience is 68.3% males aged 14-24 and ABC1’s. They have this target audience because most of the content in their magazines which they publish are more for the male audience. Females aren’t excluded from this, they do still read them but it is less common.
Cross-media ownership.
Prometheus Global Media have a cross-media ownership as they own
different types of media across the board. Not only do they own magazines
they also own TV programmes such as Film Journal International and The
Hollywood Reporter. Also they own an awards company called the Clio
Awards, these are awards for advertising.
Subsidiary
Prometheus Global Media are subsidiary, they are owned by a ‘parent’ which
is Guggenheim Partners. Guggenheim Partners is a global investment and
advisory financial services firm that engages in investment banking, capital
market services, investment management and investment advisory. The firm is
headquartered in New York City and Chicago with over 2,500 staff located in
20 cities throughout the US, Europe and Asia.
