How would you describe this painting in terms of the subject matter, appearance of the mother and child, the background, the painter’s use of color, and imagery.

A. Characteristics: - Emphasis on religious images - Flat (lacked depth, background)- Dull Colors- Unrealistic - Disproportionate (religious figures depicted the largest)- Rigid, with no appearance of movement
