 A sweet yellowish or brownish

viscid fluid produced by variousbees from the nectar of flowersand used as food.

HOW BEES PRODUCEHONEY 

There are Four Species of Bees

Bee colony: Queen bee, Workers,Drones

Worker bees rear larvae collectnectar.

Honey is source of the Bees Food

HOW BEES PRODUCEHONEY 

Nectar collected in Bee stomach isdigested and converted into glucose +fructose.

Honey thus produced is raw honeyand ripened by fanning their wingsto evaporate water.

Water content reaches 17 ² 18percent = ripened honey.

Bees seal their cells on the comb

and this honey is ready to extract &eat.

HONEY AS MEDICINE

Honey has antiseptic & antibacterialproperties because of :-

1. Water activity causing osmosis.

2. Hydrogen peroxide effect.

3. High acidity(between 3.2 ² 4.5)

Honey has nutraceutical effects.

For soar throats & laryngitis.

Wound healing.

Treatment for conjunctivitis.

 A spoon of honey with water at nightcures insomnia and constipation.

Honey VS Sugar

Honey

1 tbs (1 oz) honey provide 100 calories.

Honey is three times sweeter than canesugar. Thus it is required three times less

in quantity for the same taste.

Honey does not contain any harmfulchemicals.

Honey is predigested food. Natural sugarlike honey, sugar as in fruits, vegetables

etc require less digestion efforts.
