Farewell and Godspeed Hope Lutheran Church,
On April 7th, I will preach my last sermon as Outreach Pastor of Hope Lu-
theran Church. Thank you for all the farewells hosted over the last several
months. Eva and I are grateful for the chance you all have afforded us to be
"fully alive" with all the challenges and opportunities that Christian commu-
nity involves. Thank you for walking with us the past five years; we have
been transformed by knowing you. We will truly miss you all and would
welcome you to the Vancouver area should your travels bring you into our
neighborhood.
On May 26, 2013, I will be installed as pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church,
11040 River Road, Delta, British Columbia, Canada, V4C2S2. Trinity was
founded around the time of Hope Lutheran by Norwegian Lutheran fisher-
man who would ice skate and row across the Fraser River for worship, how-
ever, they still worship in the original historic building!
May the wind of the Spirit continue to blow in, through and among you in
the years to come as you clarify your strategic goals and are empowered to
work in mission together for the sake of LOVE.
In Christ, whose love never fails,
Pastor Jennifer
YOUTH AND FAMILY NEWS

April 12 and 14!
Page 3 Volume 34, Issue 4
Get your tickets TODAY! Shows are Friday night at 6 pm and Sunday afternoon at 1 pm. Join us this year for a new and hilarious dinner theatre. This year performances will be on Friday night and Sunday afternoon. This is in an attempt to reach a broader audience and in hopes that we will sell out! Join us as we transform our activity room into a modern day Italian diner. as you begin your meal, you will be brought into the lives of many teenagers who congregate at Luigi's for the viewing of a once in a lifetime comet. Hilarity ensues as we follow several different story lines...Will Bubba be able to leave work early and perform in the school talent show? will Luigi make amends with his family? Will Betsy get a lock of Bubba's hair and force him to fall in love with her? and much more! Tickets are currently available and are reserved seating. Tickets are $12 or a table of 8 can be purchased for $80. Children 10 and under are only $5 and children 3 and under are free. 7th Grade Stepping Stones Join us on Sunday, April 7 for our 7th grade stepping stones. This is the last stepping stones event before Confirmation begins, and youth will receive Lutheran Study Bibles. We will have a blessing, and then join together for a conversation about family devotions...complete with a Bible Trivia Game! See you there!
3 year old Stepping Stones Join us on Sunday, April 21 for a 3 year old stepping stones event. Children will receive Prayer Pillows, complete with a small book of bedtime prayers. We will share a blessing together and then join for a class that is focused on family prayer and devotions. Join us for this fun and exciting event!
Confirmation Make-Up retreat If your youth has missed more than 6 confirmation classes this year, they will need to attend a make up retreat! This event will happen on Sunday, April 21 at 12:00 noon. We will gather together for interactive learning and fun between noon and 4:30 pm. Youth who wish to be confirmed this year who have missed more than 6 classes are required to attend! But all youth are invited, as this will be an additional opportunity for learning, and material covered will not be a repeat of Wednesday nights! Hope to see you there. Help Needed with Spring Rodeo We need help to fill our concessions for the spring rodeo! We will be working Thursday, April 4, Friday, April 5 and Saturday April 6...all at 5:30 pm. The rodeo is always a fun event...and a great money maker for our group! Sign ups are currently available in the fellowship area!
