The first thing is the large title, this immediately stands out and is in an icy blue colour which suggests that the film has a cold, chilling plot that will shock the audience. This is also shown in the main image as all of the colours are cool whites and blues. The image also doesn’t reveal what the character standing at the window is looking at or what they might be about to leave the window for which creates mystery for the audience as they don’t know what is the other side of the of the window. The room is also very messy and tatty and the curtains seem to be blowing in the wind which suggests a lack of care and mayhem. Apart form the window, the rest of the room is in the dark which might tell the audience that the person at the window is trying to escape the hand or might even be trying to escape the room as there might be something else in there that the audience doesn’t know about. The hand in the foreground with the religious bracelet shows the audience that the film has a religious theme and maybe even something to do with exorcisms, devils and evil spirits that a religious figure that might be trying to fight or repent. The other text on the webpage that tells the audience what the director of the film has directed might also persuade them to go and see the film as they might be a fan and might have enjoyed the other films from the director. The review that says “absolutely haunting” will also be an indication to the visitors of the website how horrific and scary the film is.

Much like the other homepage this one also seems to have a green tint much like the other one has an icy blue tint. The green tint creates a stale atmosphere, something reminiscent of a parallel universe in a sci-fi film, it makes the audience feel like although everything is familiar, something isn’t quite right. There is then the main picture of the light switch which has been destroyed and is being held together with tape. The tape also seems to be preventing the light switch from flicking off, and as the film is titled ‘Lights Out’, it leaves the audience thinking about what would happen if the lights were to go out in the film as the tape suggests that the lights should not be turned out. The fact that the door is also open and leading out in to a dark hallway where you cannot see much also alerts the audience that there might be something hiding out there that will only show itself if the lights were to go out which creates tension for the audience as the are almost anticipating the lights to go out and for something to happen. There are also the cracks in the wall which suggests the house has fallen in to decay and there is no one around which again make the audience wonder that if no one is around, why can’t the lights be turned off? What happens when the lights get turned off? The font for the title also looks like it’s been scribbled by hand by the being that might appear when the lights go out or in desperation by someone who has been trapped in the house when the lights go out or they are telling other people who visit the house to turn the lights out.
