Hospital-acquired Infections: Estimated Prevalence of HAI (World), 2009 In the United States, the prevalence rate of HAI is 5.4
percent of the total hospital admissions.
The United Kingdom has a HAI prevalence of 8.2 percent of the total hospital admissions.
In the Asian regions, Australia has a prevalence of 6-8 percent of total hospital admissions.
According to the WHO, Malaysia had a HAI prevalence of 13.9 percent of the total hospital admissions.
In Taiwan, the prevalence of HAI ranges between 5-8 percent of the total hospital admissions every year.
