McKenney’s leveraged the collective strengths of three internalgroups to fully design and install a system quickly and cost effectively.
The ChallengeThe McKenney’s team needed to install the HVAC system in the new location without disrupting ongoing patient services occurringnext door. They had to work around a significant amount of existing below-floor plumbing in occupied spaces. In addition, a largestainless steel exhaust duct system had to be routed through multiple floors to the roof where the fan would be installed.
The SolutionInternal collaboration between the McKenney’s Engineering, Automation & Control Solutions and Healthcare teams eliminated the need for multiple contact points and created a seamless deliverable. By coordinating with the architect and general contractor, optimal routing and installation methods minimized disruption of the patient care areas. McKenney’s previous knowledge of the facility, design/build capabilities and on-staff medical gas certified technicians ensured a smooth, successful relocation.
