DER KOMMISSAR hospitality design BROOKLYN, NY renovation FACT SHEET Client Der Kommissar Status Completed 2011 Square Feet 700 Construction Cost $100,000 COLLABORATORS Construction Bopart NY This small Austrian bar / restaurant in an up and coming neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY was given a complete interior gut renovation. Wood, exposed brick and clean lines are employed as complements to its of- ferings of beer, bratwurst and all things Austrian. Above-head lighting runs the length of the bar and wall wash lighting is used to feature a local artists’ hand painted artwork. The rear of the bar, set apart by a change in elevation, is fre- quently used as a stage for live musical performances and community events.
