PRELIMINARY PROGRAMMEIn Spring 2015, Metrolinx will launch Union Pearson Express (UP Express) as Canada’s first dedicated airport express rail service.

UP Express will connect Toronto’s down-town core to Toronto Pearson International Airport, transporting travellers in 25 stress-free minutes each way.

2015 is also a year when the Global AirRail Conference will invite its participants to come to Toronto and become part of this excit-ing moment in Canada’s history.

The Global AirRail conference is an event ded-icated to cooperation, innovations and passenger transport intermodality.

Each year major air-rail operators in the world meet to discuss latest market trends, share challenges and explore new opportunities in creating seamless journeys between air and rail.

Toronto will also host the prestigious Global AirRail Awards 2015 gala dinner and cer-emony.

VENUE

Conference sessions and the Global AirRail Awards dinner and ceremony will be held at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel. This hotel is ideally situated just outside the UP Express downtown station and has a historical value reflecting the railway industry.

The Canadian Pacific Railway announced it would build the largest hotel in the British Commonwealth and the con-struction started in 1927, immediately across from Union Station. On June 11, 1929, the hotel officially opened as The Royal York.

Here you will also find the smallest bar in Toronto - The York Station.

The Global AirRail Alliance (GARA) is an international or-ganisation dedicated to air-rail intermodality that joins rail operators, airports, airlines and suppliers from around the world who work on creating a seamless travel experience between the air and rail.

GARA exists to deliver dedicated information and inter-national events for the air-rail market mainly focusing on integration of rail with airports, recognising global trends in seamless travel infrastructure and information. The air-rail market is a leader in innovation and partnerships creating seamless travel, integrating different transport modes, inno-vating in e-ticketing and passenger information systems.

Events for the air-rail market involve many different stake-holders from both air and rail industries. Our team is responsible in engaging with these stakeholders, recognising global trends in integrated travel and bringing the innovators and operators from all around the world to discuss future products and partnerships.

We have experience organising various scale events – inter-national conferences (70 to over 200 people), international awards (from 70 to over 200 people), workshops (from 10 to 40 people), study tours and site visits (from 10 to 40 people) and one-on-one meetings.
