OPERATOR INTERFACE

• STN Color Graphics Touch Screen clearly displays zone set-points and actual temperatures. Cavity zones are displayed as circles and manifold zones are displayed as squares easily set at time of set-up.

• Pressing on an individual zone brings up the full page display for one zone allowing changes to be entered by using an on-screen keypad or up/down arrows.

• Each zone can be set to operate automatically in closed-loop or in manual mode.

Commands are readily accessible by pressing the permanent icon keys:

HOME - Returns display to Multi-Zone mode.

SET-UP - Allows changes in number of total zones, cavity and manifold assign- ment.

COPY - Allows entering same set point for a selected range of zones.

LINK - Allows two or more zones to use one thermocouple.

PROG - Allows storage and retrieval of job settings - with full on-screen keypad for alpha-numeric input.

HELP - Displays hints for the operation and troubleshooting of current mode.

STOP - Ceases all operation.

WARM - Puts unit in Warm-Up mode for 10 minutes, then resumes normal operation.

RUN - Starts and maintains control operation.

PARK - Reduces all temperature to all zones to 200°F or 100°C for pausing operation.

BOOST - Temporarily increases set points by 200°F or 100°C then resumes normal operation.

GRAPH - Changes display to Bar Graph Mode.

980 GENERATION

30 AMP Max Load

Model 980CH control modules have all the features of the 980C. The circuitry and software are designed to handle heavier current loads. The fuse is accessible directly from the front panel for increased convenience. They are intended to operate only in Model 980FH6 high amperage mainframes. The power switch cuts off one side of the line while the other side is fused with a KTK fast-acting fuse for better protection of the circuit. Specifically designed to control temperature of Hot Runner Manifolds, they respond more directly to the conditions characteristic of larger systems.

In operation, the unit checks for load, time of temperature rise, and automatically adapts to the conditions of the mold to maintain a uniform and stable temperature.

THERMOCOUPLE MOLD CONNECTORS

The TCC series connectors conform to NEMA type 4 and NEMA type 12 specifications. They are polarized and provided with a latch for positive retention of the mating connector. Zone location and polarity are marked. Screw terminals are located on the underside for wire assembly.

TCC Connector shown at right and the PWC series (below) mate with ORYCON Adapter Cables. Models W9-12D, W9-20D, W12-20D, WN8-12D and WN12-12D.

POWER MOLD CONNECTORS 15 AMP MAX

The PWC series connectors also conform to NEMA Type 4 and Type 12 specifications. They have a latching clamp and are configured for one way insertion. Contact pins are crimped and supplied with 6" of wire with zone marker, as well as the appropriate quantity of insulated crimp connectors required for quick wiring.

MOLD JUNCTION BOXES

One very important aspect of controlling temperature in a Hot Runner System is the wiring. Often this proves to be the weak link of a system. ORYCON Mold Junction Boxes are designed to simplify wiring, save time in testing and troubleshooting and improve the reliability of the Hot Runner System they are used in. No special tools are required. The terminal blocks have compression washers that allow a secure connection simply by slipping the wires under and tightening the screws.
