selection that we hope you will enjoy.

These are some of our personal favourites that we wanted to share with you.

01 Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine Sur Lie, Domaine de la Chauvinière, France 12% ABV £25Full of ripe fruit on the nose and palate, pears and citrus abound.

02 Picpoul de Pinet, Emma M Louise, France 13% ABV £26Elegant, attractive floral fruit with good crispness and citrus notes.

03 Sancerre, André Dezat et Fils, France 13% ABV £31Fine Sancerre, bone dry with a great depth of mineral and herbacous fruit.

04 Mâcon-Vergisson, Les Rochers, Domaine Guerrin & Fils, France 14% ABV £28From one parcel of vines on top of the spectacular Vergisson escarpment comes this delightfully mineral, ‘bready’, Chablis-style Mâcon. It’s a great fish or shellfish wine.

05 Preciso Pinot Grigio, Terre Siciliane, Italy 12% ABV £23Fresh and easy with juicy fruit, lemony hints and an attractive style.

06 Bernon Albariño, Rias Baixas, Bodegas Aquitania, Spain 13% ABV £27Creamy fruit with plenty of flavour and appealing underlying minerality.

07 Cape Elevation Vineyards ‘Contour Path’ Sauvignon Blanc, Elgin, South Africa 13.5% ABV £28Elegant, Sancerre-style wine with good aromas and weight, attractive minerality and excellent balance.

08 Two in the Bush Semillon/Sauvignon Blanc, Adelaide Hills, Bird in Hand, Australia 12% ABV £29Aromas of citrus and gooseberry, crisp, fresh palate of tropical fruit flavours.

09 Glyndwr Dry, Welsh Regional Wine, Wales 11% ABV £30Well-balanced, floral and fruity with hints of citrus and apple.

10 La Cabane Reserve Marsanne/Viognier, Pays d’Oc, France 12.5% ABV £24A fresh and aromatic white with juicy fruit, suitable for all occasions.

11 Vouvray, Clos le Vigneau, Château Gaudrelle, France 13% ABV £30Only just sweet with lovely acidity, so that at no time is it cloying. Delicately delicious.

12 Henri Ehrhart Riesling, grand cru Kaefferkopf, Alsace, France 12.5% ABV £30The Kaefferkopf vineyard at Ammerschwihr is renowned for its elegant, mineral Rieslings and was upgraded to a well merited grand cru status in 2007. Fragrant and powerful with intense, juicy, lime fruit and fine minerality.

13 Piesporter Michelsberg, Moselland, Germany 8.5% ABV £23Typically light on its feet, with a fresh grapey character.

14 Fernanda Cappello Friulano, Friuli Grave, Italy 12.5% ABV £26Floral notes on the nose with melon and fresh mown grass; soft, round palate with apple and spices.

15 Perfect Cut Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand 12.5% ABV £26Tropical fruit, grassy herbaceous character and ripe citrussy freshness.

16 Kumeu Village Hand Harvested Pinot Gris, Auckland, New Zealand 13.5% ABV £27Rich and complex, this has a lovely floral quality and a luscious weight on the dry finish.

17 Alto Los Romeros Gewurztraminer, Reserva, Valle Central, Chile 13% ABV £23Pleasing intensity of fruit aromas with floral notes such as jasmine and white roses. On the palate it is light, with vibrant acidity, and a perfect balance.

White Wines

FULL FLAVOURED & OAKED DRY WHITES

18 Chablis 1er cru Fourchaume, Les Valéry, Jean Durup, France 12.5% ABV £42Baked bread aromas and an intense palate characterise this superb Chablis.

19 Chassagne-Montrachet vieilles vignes, Maison Roche de Bellene, France 13.5% ABV £65Wonderfully inviting with white orchard and yellow plums and floral notes.

20 Greco di Tufo, Loggia della Serra, Terredora Di Paolo, Italy 13% ABV £32Almond and smoky aromas then succulent, sweet grapefruit palate.

21 Capellanía, Rioja Blanco, Marqués de Murrieta, Spain 13% ABV £41Full and oaky style, not quite as full on as in days gone by, this has a some good citric freshness to balance the vanilla and waxy style. Grown at altitude from fifty year old vines in the Capellania at the Ygay estate.

22 Freedom Cross Chardonnay, Western Cape, Franschhoek Cellar, South Africa 13.5% ABV £23Lightly oaked with flavours of lychee and melon and hints of butterscotch.

23 La Petite Ferme Viognier, Franschhoek, South Africa 13.5% ABV £27Peach, frangipan and hints of spice characterise this complex white.

24 Churchill’s Estates Branco, Douro, Portugal 12% ABV £29Grapes grown at high altitude make this wine as fresh as fresh can be. Biscuity and flavoursome, with a twist of lime. An outstanding example of Portuguese wine.

25 Wente ‘Morning Fog’ Chardonnay, San Francisco Bay, USA 13.5% ABV £33Full with tropical fruit and hints of toffee and vanilla.

White Wines

FRUITY, LIGHT BODIED REDS

26 Beaujolais, Jacques Charlet, France 13% ABV £25Juicy and easy-drinking, floral notes and raspberry flavours.

27 La Paleine, Cabernet Franc, Saumur Rouge, France 14% ABV £28Full of juicy, raspberry fruit flavours and fine acidity this is a light and refreshing red.

28 Fleurie, Domaine des Communaux, Jacques Charlet, France 13.5% ABV £31Attractive, wild strawberry fruit is abundant in this wine, making it a particularly juicy and good value example. Fleurie is the most famous of the ten superior, ‘cru’ villages of Beaujolais.

29 Bardolino Classico, Zeni, Italy 12.5% ABV £25Pale appearance, juicy fruit and soft tannin, very easy drinking.

30 Roero, Tibaldi, Italy 14.5% ABV £39Plenty of bright fruit on the palate, cherries and red fruits, well balanced tannins and a crisp, positive finish. Roero lies to the north of Alba, along the Tanaro River.

31 Pask Instinct Pinot Noir, Wairarapa, New Zealand 13% ABV £29Succulent red and black fruit flavours. Good body and well balanced.

32 Los Coches Pinot Noir, Valle Central, Chile 13.5% ABV £23Packed full of fresh red fruit character, this is classic New World Pinot from Chile.

Red Wines

JUICY, MEDIUM BODIED REDS

33 Jean Balmont Merlot, Pays d’Oc, France 13.5% ABV £23Bursting with ripe plummy fruit, hints of dark chocolate and spice.

34 Martinfort Carignan, Sélection Vieilles Vignes, Vin de France, France 12.5% ABV £24Round, full and soft, with chunky fruit and great concentration from the old vines.

35 Côtes du Rhône, Vieilles Vignes, Cave Coteaux du Rhône, France 14% ABV £25Spicy plum fruit and soft tannins. A well-balanced blend.

36 Château Semonlon, Haut-Médoc, France 13.5% ABV £30Lovely, soft plum and crisp blackcurrant fruit, supple and fresh.

37 Château Montaiguillon, Montagne Saint-Emilion, France 13.5% ABV £32This has a delicious supple red fruit character of plums, blackcurrants and cherries backed up by good structure and ripe tannins.

38 Santenay, Vieilles Vignes, Domaine Borgeot, France 13% ABV £39An enjoyable wine, a touch gamey on the nose with fresh raspberry fruit, juicy and succulent.

39 Gevrey-Chambertin, Dix Climats, Drouhin-Laroze, France 13% ABV £65Lovely weight and depth of black fruit with super balance and touch of mocha on the finish.

40 Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Voluntè, Italy 12.5% ABV £24Good cherry fruit, juicy and substantial. Easy-drinking and attractive.

41 Vaza Crianza, Rioja, Spain 14% ABV £25Spicy and floral with classic raspberry and strawberry fruit.

42 Alto del Obre Reserva, Rioja, Spain 13.5% ABV £31An intense and complex wine full of ripe blackberry and blueberry fruit with hints of cassis, the initial fruit is followed by a subtle flavour of spices, cinnamon, vanilla and cloves.

43 Santa Ema ‘Select Terroir’ Merlot Reserva, Maipo, Chile 13.5% ABV £26Black and red fruits. Silky, well-balanced and positive on the finish.

44 L A Cetto Petite Sirah, Baja California, Mexico 14% ABV £26Medley of fruit from redcurrants to blueberries. Silky tannins and good concentration.

Red Wines

RICH & FULL BODIED REDS

45 Crozes-Hermitage, Coeur de Clairmont, France 14% ABV £31Overt dark berry fruit over a background of soft spice.

46 Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore, Marogne, Zeni, Italy 14% ABV £33A “little Amarone”, made similarly, intense flavours of black cherries and berries.

47 Pesquera Tinto Crianza, Ribera del Duero, Alejandro Fernández, Spain 14.5% ABV £41Intense, with a layered, richly-textured palate of fine fruit and oak.

48 Tons de Duorum Tinto, Douro, Portugal 13.5% ABV £25Very pretty, round and soft, juicy black plums and black pepper.

49 Massaya ‘Le Colombier’, Bekaa Valley, Lebanon 14.5% ABV £34Spicy notes with ripe, meaty, blackberry and red fruits, and a touch of chocolate. This supple, round wine is from an exciting French-Lebanese collaboration, which owns vineyards at an altitude of 1,000 metres in the Bekaa Valley.

50 La Petite Ferme Cabernet Sauvignon, Franschhoek, South Africa 14% ABV £30Morello cherry and blackcurrant fruit combine with leather and cigar box notes.

51 Sunnycliff Shiraz, Victoria, Australia 13.5% ABV £25Chunky red with sweet, brambly fruit and chocolaty flavours.

52 Margan ‘Breaking Ground’ Barbera, Hunter Valley, Australia 14.5% ABV £33Full of black cherry fruit and spice, star anise and allspice. Lovely, savoury character and a refreshing juicy finish but with lots of depth and concentration.

53 Las Pampas Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina 13.5% ABV £25Rich, full red with damson and plum fruits. Soft oak and tannins.

54 Bodega Piedra Negra Reserve Malbec, Mendoza, Lurton, Argentina 14.5% ABV £31Smoky, spicy, black fruits, damson and morello cherry. Great balance.

55 Bogle Vineyards Petite Sirah, California, USA 14.5% ABV £35Full-throttle red loaded with jammy berry fruit, currants and spice.

Red Wines

56 Jean Balmont Cabernet Franc Rosé, Vin de France, France 12.5% ABV £24A charming strawberry scented rosé with freshness and delicacy.

57 Piquepoul Rosé, Coteaux d’Ensérune, Foncalieu, France 13% ABV £26Beautifully delicate rosé with floral notes of rose petals and lovely zesty fruit.

58 Massaya Rosé, Bekaa Valley, Lebanon 13.5% ABV £33Clean, delicate rosé from Lebanon made with a blend of Syrah and Cinsault. Fermentation in stainless steel vats preserves the light, fresh fruit that is perfect for early drinking.

59 Pato Torrente Rosé, Valle Central, Chile 12.5% ABV £24Off-dry with plenty of strawberry flavours and lively, refreshing acidity.

60 Bandol Rosé, Le Galantin, France 14% ABV £31A fresh, lively rosé with gentle lemony aromas, a refreshing palate with flavours of peaches and pears alongside a good underlying minerality. Brother and sister Jérôme and Céline Pascal run the estate.

61 Torres Natureo Alcohol Free Muscat, Penedès, Spain 0% ABV £24A light medium dry white with some grapey fruit character.

62 Torres Natureo Alcohol Free Rosé Syrah/Cabernet, Penedès, Spain 0% ABV £24Pale cherry-red wine with aromas of wild berries and red liquorice.

63 Torres Natureo Alcohol Free Syrah, Penedès, Spain 0% ABV £24Lively hedgerow fruit on a well balanced and juicy palate.

Rosé Wines

64 Tanners Prosecco Brut, Treviso, Italy 11% ABV £27Attractive, long and succulent with easy, creamy pear fruit.

65 Bird in Hand Sparkling Rosé, Adelaide Hills, Australia 12.5% ABV £33A softer style of fizz, with aromas and flavours of strawberries and cream. There is a creamy, fine mousse and a light, elegant finish. Simply delicious.

66 La Grande Marque Saumur Brut, France 12.5% ABV £29Fresh and lively Saumur with elegant fruit and a good hint of maturity.

67 Ayala Brut Majeur, Champagne, France 12% ABV £47Notably dry and mineral with a wonderfully fine mousse. Now owned by Bollinger.

68 André Clouet Grande Réserve, Brut Champagne, Grand Cru à Bouzy, France 12% ABV £49Rich and concentrated with excellent fruit, yet with surprising elegance for a champagne containing only Pinot Noir, which thrives in the soils at Bouzy. Broad, complex and biscuity.

69 Louis Roederer Vintage, Brut Champagne, France 12% ABV £76Exceptional, opulent champagne with rich notes of brioche, apple and cream.

70 Muscat de St-Jean-de-Minervois Tailhades, France - Half 15% ABV £15Quite light, grapey, deliciously sweet, with a kick of lemony freshness.

71 Tanners Sauternes, France - Half 13% ABV £25Full, rich and complex with honeyed flavours and good freshness.

72 El Aziz, Vendemmia Tardiva, Sicilia, Fina, Italy - 50cl 14% ABV £25Rich apricot and exotic fruit mix, this is a fascinating dessert wine from Sicily. Using late-harvested Grillo grapes, talented winemaker Bruno Fina ensures it has that all-important balance between sweetness and acidity.
