Nestled in a forest of fir trees, Traube Tonbach is

located in one of Europe‘s most beautiful and pristine

landscapes.

In the 18th century, baker Tobias Finkbeiner opened

a traditional tavern for the charcoal makers and

lumbermen working in Tonbach Valley. The original

“Traube” has become a modern LUXURY RESORT

known for fulfilling its guests’ every wish.

operated for over 220 years. Today, patron Heiner Finkbeiner

and his wife Renate put their personal and ambitious

touch on managing this establishment with support from

Renovated in 2012, our Haus Kohlwald offers very spacious

accommodations for families with children in particular.

Its timeless silhouette is characteristic of the Black Forest,

the surrounding landscape. The building is very bright,

open and inviting. The impressive interior features a

welcoming colour scheme, exclusive materials, warm

AN OUTING ON THE LAKE.Neues Schloss Meersburg

Even the Prince Bishops of Constance appreciated this

location. From here, you can revel in the most beautiful

view of Lake Constance all the way to the Säntis. In the

18th century, they expanded Neues Schloss Meersburg to

make it the residence, hiring famous artists like Balthasar

Neumann and Giuseppe Appiani to assist in the process.

You can discover the Baroque castle and its grounds, join a

tour or simply enjoy the beauty of its history, architecture

and natural surroundings.

Traube Tonbach has operated the café at the Neues Schloss

Meersburg since 2012. In the summer, the spacious sunny

Traube Kids meet in our large KIDS’ COURT. This large

house is dedicated to everything that kids find fun. We

have 1,001 playful ideas – a mini-cinema, a separate

restaurant with kids’ cookery school, a playstreet for

running around and a cool chill-out room for kids to

relax. There are also books and games, Bobby-Cars and

indoor football, table tennis, badminton and billiards. We

organise a wide variety of activities every day, including

karaoke and etiquette courses.

In the end, the great outdoors are the biggest and best

playground all year round. Kids can explore the exciting

forest and play football at Traube Tonbach. We also

organise excursions to raft on the Murg, drive go-karts,

climb or cycle. We have fun summer cookouts and

exciting winter activities as well, such as torchlight walks

and toboggan parties.
