For HHW amounts between 10 and 50 litres/kilograms, residents can schedule a free Toxic Taxi pickup.If volume is less than 10 litres/kilograms, items must be taken to a Drop-Off Depot or Community Environment Day event.

Set out instructions:• HHW must be placed on private property and at the front/

street address side of the residence.

• Items must be in a sealed, non-leaking and labeled container (i.e. paint cans must have a lid).

• Different material types need to be kept separate (e.g. batteries, paints, light bulbs should not be mixed together in one container).

Fluorescent tubes: • If requesting pickup of fluorescent tubes only, a minimum of 20 tubes is required.

• Quantities in excess of 40 may not all be picked up in one day; a second pick up may be required.

• Tubes longer than 1.2 metres/4 feet must be boxed.

• Shorter tubes are accepted if securely taped in bundles of 10.

Needles/syringes: • No minimum required.

• Must be contained and sealed in a plastic container (e.g. jug, water bottle) and clearly labeled “Needles” or “Syringes” (approved sharps container not required).

• Containers cannot be returned.

Cooking oil (from residential sources only) • Must be in a sealed container labeled “Cooking oil”.
