How to keep the sterling silver jewelry piece within your bag?
The lack of air causes silver to tarnish due to a chemical reaction which the latter undergoes in presence of oxygen in the air. Once silver gets tarnished, it merges with oxygen to form silver oxide which is black in color. It can regain its former shine once the silver oxide coating is removed from its surface.
Use Aluminium foil to prevent from Tarnishing
You can place a piece of aluminum foil within your bag. If it is made from plain silver, then you can line a pan’s bottom with aluminum foil. Put the jewelry piece on top of it. Ensure that the silver touches the aluminum. Cover the former totally with warm water. Also apply some baking soda to it.
Use some Salt
Add a quarter spoon full of salt. The water will begin to froth a little and spill from the container. Therefore, place it on the kitchen sink. The mixture may required to be changed a couple of times as the process will be repeated. Once you find the jewelry piece clean, rinse it well with water.
