EmazeEmaze is a website used to create elaborate presentations. The only time I used this, was for the initial pitch of my project. I found it relatively easy to use and found it to be an interesting alternative to create a presentation.

redditReddit is a social networking website made up of hundreds of forums (subreddits) based around different topics. I used this as part of my research, primarily to see how audiences react to the first draft of my poem. I posted said poem onto a subreddit based around drawing requests for people. I asked people to draw a picture of what they thought the Patchman looked like based on the poem. The survey was quite successful as I quickly had a number of varied results from people.

photoshopI mainly used photoshop for the designing of my characters and for the creation of my poster. Once I had sketched the initial concept of the characters, I used photoshop to add different colour schemes to the designs. I have been using Photoshop for three years now I found it simple to use. The coloured drawing helped to decide the look of my final character.

Nikon d3200This is the DSLR camera I used for the entirety of my filming. I used this for my project last year so I was used to the controls and how to operate it. I found the lighting and exposure controls to be especially useful when it came to animating. One problem I did run into was that it ran out of charge very quickly.

S0ny movie studio platinum 13This is the software I

used for the editing of my project. This is a newer version of the software I was used to (Sony Movie Studio 12) so it took some time getting used to. I edited each scene individually by uploading the frames and then converting it to a video file. Once I had each scene, I uploading the video files into a new project and edited my final piece.

Marantz audio recorderWhen it came to the recording of my narration, I used a Marantz audio recorder to get the dialogue I needed. I found the Marantz easy to use as it was simple to record and stop recording. The quality of the audio was very good with little background noise.

AudacityOnce I had the audio recorded, I imported it into the free audio editing software audacity. I have used audacity in the past and find it extremely useful use. With audacity, I was able to find the clips I liked the most and remove any unwanted background noise.

Microsoft PublisherPublisher is very similar to Microsoft’s other office program Word. However, Publisher allows for a greater sense of creative freedom. Because of this, I found it was a very suitable piece of software to use when designing my magazine article. The only problem I did run into when using it was that it tended to lag at certain points, meaning it would become very difficult to manipulate images.

GIMP 2Due to the fact that I do not own Adobe Photoshop at home, I had to resort to using the next best free software - this being GIMP 2 to create my poster. While not as advanced as Photoshop, it is still very similar. This meant that my experience with Photoshop allowed me to get to grasps with GIMP 2.
